Hope they turn up soon for you guys. I really like it so far. The computer and monitor play a lot nicer than with the DVI/VGA interface. When you disconnect the monitor in clamshell mode, the laptop is smart enough to realise what has happened, rather than keeping the screen turned off even after opening the lid.

Full brightness is required for whites to actually be white, but this mode is very bright! When I turned it on this morning it blew my eyes out, but I've adjusted.

It has no power button, which is cool and minimalist, but it also means you have to use software solutions to turn the screen off, which may or may not be annoying to some people.
 
You brought up an interesting point; so the screen always in stand-by, and basically turns "on" when the macbook (pro/air) is plugged in?
