Did anybody else notice that shortly after the helicopter starts chasing Jack and the kids that when they are in the woods hunkering down there appears to be a camera in the scene on the left side? Maybe just a figment of my imagination....

so when the dvd comes on tuesday it will also go to itunes. I am going to buy it either way but my question is how likely is it that the itunes version may include the 20 or so first few minutes of season 7 that is on the dvd-I know that it is a "special feature" and the iTunes version rarely(if ever) include such things but I was just wondering if anyone has heard of similar things being released onto iTunes as those first few minutes is esssentially the reason why I am buying the dvd

I loved it! Though I have a feeling that this season will be much more violent and gruesome than previous seasons.

I cannot wait for them to explain how they can bring back the dead

It was a good start to Season 7.

I doubt iTunes with have the bonus content that the DVD will have. But a bigger problem is why doesn't Fox offer it's programs in HD on iTunes?

i hope they aren't doing more violence for violence's sake, that's usually a sign of decline. but seeing the stakes raised is going to make day 7 a great day.

btw, tony wasn't dead, he was assumed dead, and when he 'died', they gave him no silent clock and it was a cliffhanger ending.

So checked this morning and it's on iTunes with the Bonus content and in HD. But iTunes is charging $19.99 for it, seems a bit steep more than a normal DVD download.

any chance of the UK store getting this ?
i can not wait to watch it!!!!!

i heard some rumors season 7 was going to be the last ?

What is the bonus content? iTunes says it's extended.

Also, BestBuy has a 3 disc edition with bonus content as well...

Anybody?

Possibly, but I thought that Fox signed on for 7 more after season 1. Maybe they are cancelling early and doing the movie thing like Stargate?

Let's face it though, 24 is somewhat predictable (but still very enjoyable for me...). :)

"Jack, DON'T go in there alone...."

:D

the bonus content is an extended version

the dvd version includes

Extended Edition "Creator’s Cut" featuring over ten minutes of never-before-seen footage (not shown in the television broadcast version)
• Behind-the-scenes "Making Of" documentary
• Children of War featurette
• Cast / Crew Commentary
• "24" Season 6 in Four Minutes featurette
• Season 7 Sneak Peek – First 16 minutes of the premiere episode

via amazon

gkarris-where is this 3 disc version? I dont see it on the Best Buy site.

I personally think the actual DVD is a better buy as the pricing is about the same and the dvd has some pretty cool features (mainly the first 16 minutes of Season 7)

EDIT-apparently the 3 disc version includes a digital copy and is only at Best Buy (at least wikipedia says it is)

iTunes says you get 17 minutes of bonus footage not seen on TV. I haven't watched it yet so I don't know if it is more of an extended version of what was on TV or a preview of Season 7.

So here's the deal:

I went to BestBuy over lunch and picked up the 3 Disc Version.

It has both the televised and extended versions, all the behind the scenes stuff, some sort of music video, and the digital download.

All on sale for $23.

I can scan the back cover if anyone is interested...

Looks like the HD version is exclusive to iTunes for now - but would like to see it eventually on Blu-ray.

I have yet to watch it - I Tivo'd it but decided to wait until today with and watch it extended on DVD. :)

It dropped 5 dollars since this morning when I downloaded it? I wonder what they charged me then, since when I downloaded it, it was still $19.99. I'll check that in a minute.

Well anyway after watching the iTunes download I can say they really didn't add much. I don't want to say anything until everyone has had a chance to see it. I'm sure most of the plot points that they added could be guessed by an experienced 24 fan. It's all stuff that would have came out during the early episodes of Season 7.

Edit: I did get to pay $19.99 for the episode. Glad to see the price drop for those who waited.

It's still $19.99 for the HD. I accidentally purchased the SD version which was $14.99. I'm waiting for iTunes to refund my money so I can get the HD version.

So I went to best buy today and picked up the 3 disc digital copy. For the record, both the the 3 disc version and the regular version include the extended version that is in the iTunes store so the only advantages of the dvd is the 17 or so minutes of season 7, the usual extras(behind the scenes, featurettes, ect) and the digital copy

Hmm, I bought my DVD at Wal-Mart so I didn't get the 3rd disc with the digital copy. Oh well, nothing that Handbrake can't fix.

Watched the broadcast version last night. Pretty good (but where does the time fly when you're watching these things?) The first 15-20 minutes didn't feel like 24 at all, but once Jack got into the swing of things, all was well again :D

Watched the first 15 minutes of season 7. Wow, this ought to be good. I'm really curious as to Tony's story arc.

Haven't seen the extended cut yet. The other extras were decent. The "season 6 in 6 minutes" sounded promising but it was just all of the "previously on 24" recap clips strung together.

It occurs to me that if I didn't see the movie on my local "rabbit ear" OTA networks, I probably won't see the rest of the episodes either. Looks like I'll be downloading this season from iTunes.

UM wow, very cool. So if this is based on 3 years after season 6 - This brings so many questions to mind

1. What happens to the other crew, Maurice and Chloe, Bill Bucanon, nadia yassir etc? - Chole would have had her baby?

2. Does Audrey recover? Does jack meet up with her again? Having said that being that season 7 is solely based in Washington and not LA that possibly won't happen

3. How does tony almedia come back? I thought he died in season 5? There bloody doing a days of our lives and bring people back! LoL Is he working with jack or plotting against him?

Can't wait until season 7 !

i too just watched the first 16 minutes-if you have the DVD I highly recommend it-it fills in some of the holes of the trailers-it really does not tell that much but gives you enough to draw some conclusions
