one more note: it's kinda funny to see billy walsh give up his directing duties to become an fbi computer analyst

The FBI agent who trust Jack is really hot. Oh, and the episode was good as well.

Did anybody find it funny that despite how well-trained Tony Almeida is and all that, Jack was able to find him in around 1 1/2 hours? :p I mean, that's ridiculous, even for TV. I know the creators of this show need Jack to solve this thing in 24 hours for the show to make sense, but wow.

I told my wife after Sunday's episodes that I hoped they brought back Bill, and then BAM! there he was. Really liking this year's story line. It'll be interesting to see how Jack navigates back into running the show for the government (because you know he will) after appearing to be a bad guy. And I totally knew that Tony wasn't really a bad guy.

any chance of the UK store getting this ?
i can not wait to watch it!!!!!

i heard some rumors season 7 was going to be the last ?

OK, anyone else think that the whole "there's a leak in <insert organization that Jack is working for/with>" is becoming too cliché?

I wonder who the leak at new CTU is going to be, it's a seriously small pool to pick from...and part of recruiting Jack Bauer is a requirement of a mole working in that organization for him to track down, without someone trying to thwart him from the inside they'd have a hard time calling this season 1, much less 24.

The first episode would have Jack stopping the bad guys and then sitting on his ass watching TV for 45 minutes.

I guess they could give him a TiVo, let him skip the commercials and they could squeeze in an episode of House.

I'm still an hour behind, but I get to watch that one in HD (free HD preview on u-verse this week). Not sure that it's worth $10 a month to eat more DVR space, but it'll be fun for this week.

YES. no more leaks, and that's why i think this is the final day (season) of 24.

the other cliche: ill-equipped terrorist plans for the good guys. ctu gets broken into, moles everywhere, easy to vent in toxins into a 'safe room'. i was about to say near the end of the show last night, "don't tell me that it's that simple to get into the safe room through the back." thankfully, it was all concrete, otherwise i would have ranted about how bad security is on that show. you would think they have better security in those types of places...

I completely derailed myself in that last post. I quoted to point out that I have always been of the opinion that they should end after this season just so they can market their 24/7 box set. A solid week of TV, with the extra 2 hours of Redemption.

I think Jack will find out that he is the 12th cylon and has really been the leak to the puppet masters all along. The other leaks were all merely plants to keep him off of his own scent.

By the end of this season Bauer will be torturing himself to find out information.

i'm suspending reality for the moment, entertaining the idea that 3 former ctu agents have enough knowledge and power to extract jack, get him on their side, and run this underground operation all without attracting attention from bad guys and the government alike

I wonder if Bill is going to be exposed as some loony conspiracy nut reading too much into his "evidence" and Jack will end up having to take Bill out after the terrorist threat is eliminated.

Can someone please explain why the President's son is dead and we never saw it happen? I get that time went by between Redemption and the start of Season 7, but a little info would help here. It just seems like an integral part of the story and so far it's been glossed over. Guess we're gonna get a flash back, or see it on a Secret Service "Top Secret Surveillance Tape" that should have been destroyed but someone held onto for blackmail purposes.:D

Otherwise, the past 4 hrs have been great. Tony Almeda is the frickin' man. Love the fact that he was a bad guy for a while. I'm sure he's going to escape into the night sometime before this day ends to avoid prosecution for previous crimes. That could be a great "ride off into the sunset moment." Maybe him and Jack could leave together and head for Brokeback Mountain!:p

My guess is that his buddy who told him about what was going on and then promptly disappeared, turned up dead, got the President's son looking into the issues that his friend had mentioned. After digging deep enough he got the attention of the wrong people and his "suicide" was arranged.

Of course the idea that the investigation will be resolved by the end of the day is laughable, this is 24.

Yeah, I figure it went down like this, too. I'm just surprised that we didn't see it happen yet.

And you're right, a lot can happen in a "24" hour period.:D I wish I could get as much work done as Bauer. I'd definitely get a raise!

We won't see it happen, we'll slowly get more details as the "day" progresses, but to my knowledge, I don't think we've ever seen a flashback in 24...

I could be mistaken though.

I personally love the new Day/Season of 24.

It's predictable.
Jack says damn it too much.
There's a new president..
There's leaks.
There's people who try and stop Jack.

And there's a damn good show!

Im hoping the woman president(that Hilary Clinton wannabe) gets dropped after a couple of episodes and gets replaced with Wayne Palmer.

I just finished catching up on the first 4 episodes of Season 7. I can already see similar elements and plot lines from the old seasons. I still love it though. I'm excited that 24 is finally back.

Thank you. It was driving me nuts. I just couldn't place where I saw him before and was too lazy to look up the cast names.

finally, someone here recognized the reference!

haha, kinda weird not seeing him strung out with a bottle of jack, a revolver, and a stripper/prostitute.

tonight's episode was eh... who honestly builds a safe room with access to an air duct... c'mon writers you could have thought of something better.
