Apple plans to introduce a revamped Health app on the iPhone as early as iOS 19.4 next year, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.

In his Power On newsletter today, Gurman said Apple plans to offer a new AI-powered health coaching feature that offers personalized health recommendations.

The information provided by the coaching feature would be accompanied by videos from health experts that inform users about various health conditions and ways to make lifestyle improvements. For example, Gurman said if the Apple Watch tracks poor heart-rate trends, a video could explain the risks of heart disease.

It is possible that the feature could eventually be part of an Apple Health+ service.

Food tracking will be another big part of the revamped Health app, which could compete with the MyFitnessPal app, according to Gurman.

Apple is also aiming for the AI-powered coaching feature to provide users with fitness-related tips, such as how to improve their technique during workouts. This feature could eventually be built into the Apple Fitness+ service.

Apple is expected to release iOS 19 to the general public in September this year, and iOS 19.4 should follow in March or April next year.

We used to be excited about a major X.0 release in the fall every year, but it looks like we should start conditioning ourselves on being excited about a X.4 release in early Spring...
Yeah, I started to update relatively late in the cycle because updating to the X.0.1 or even to the X.1 version feels like beta-testing (because of bugs and such), so I guess they decided to push a lot of new features back to late releases to try to focus on stability and bug fixes for the three first point updates.

This year I made an exception because I really liked the new iOS 18 customizable Home Screen, but I usually wait until the X.3 update, at least.

Just give us every app on every platform and let us decide whether we want the app on our systems or not, please!

I hope they don’t expect us to pay extra for this. I’m not taking out any more subscriptions to additional services. In a 1500 quid phone I expect to get these facilities built in and accessible included in the price.

I’ve made a conscious effort to ditch subscriptions and it’s saved me a lot of money. I’m not going back.

would love to have stretching workouts for different parts of the body pre-workout and post-workout and add more workouts for Apple Fitness +

Built in food tracking would be nice. I just hope I don’t need Apple Intelligence for that.
That would be nice. I’ve been using the free version of MyFitnessPal for years and would love if Apple built in food tracking alongside the Health App. That would be 1 less app to have on my iPhone.

Such functions should have been developed and implemented several years ago. How is it possible that a small studio Gentler can connect the dots and say "yesterday was hard, today regeneration", and one of the largest technology companies in the world with access to all data considers that regardless of yesterday, today I have to close the rings. And also that 19.4... mockery of users and embarrassment for Apple. These stories of AI, Siri and now it is becoming pathetic.

Of course some (or all) of this is going to be part of a subscription. The question is will it be included in Apple One premier or will there be another higher-priced tier that includes it.
