They would have gotten my money for .99, but no way for $25. Why post it on sale for a day then make it were you can't download and buy it for .99 . Been trying for last few hours and its still a no go.

It's not a game its a range finder.

Thanks for the clarification. I guess I didn't read the app description well enough - silly me, I was reading it as a golf game using real courses.

Well, regardless, seems like a great app for those that avidly golf, especially in a lot of locations. Good luck to those still trying to download it!

This is bull*****. How can you advertise a 1-day sale on an app and then make it unavailable for download? I just contacted itunes support via chat and they were unable to help. I suggest that everyone affected go to the following link and fill out a feedback form to complain:

http://www.apple.com/support/itunes...ubtopic=Downloading and updating Applications

While it is a very generous offer, I agree they should honor a price they have listed on the app page. If they had said $0.99 for the first 100 purchases, that would be one thing. But to 'modify' the app to prevent sales is BS.

I've written both the developers and Apple. Let's see what happens.

Just a few minutes ago. It read .99 on one page and 24.99 on another. I downloaded it and if I'm billed for the 24.99 I call them on it and either have it removed or ask for a refund. It is advertised for .99 after all.

It just let me download this app as well, but when I checked my account statement, it billed me 24.99, I have already reported a problem and I am on the phone with iTunes as we speak, will let everybody know what happens

Thanks for looking into this tdgrn! It only makes sense that if you decide to advertise a sale for the day that any app that you sell during that day you should honor the sale price advertised.

Hey guys! If I follow the link from the first post on this thread, it still says $.99, but if I search for it in iTunes, it says $24.99. Why would it do that??? It's not good if our links can bring up cached AppStore pages!

It's fun to play around with anyway and a golfer of any level would kill for this app.
Every course around here in Encinitas (outside of San Diego) is listed.

Nicely done.

It's absolutely ridiculous that they advertised this sale and now it's back to regular price. They need to honor that sale price that they advertised.

Any update?

Does anyone have the phone number for the App Store support? I got burned by the same bait-and-switch with this app. Tried to download it from 2PM EDT today but got the "Update" error notification. Got home this evening and looked the App up and was able to download it -- but I did not notice that they had jacked the price back to $24.99!

Luckily, I was able to use the back page function in iTunes (Mac OS) to pull up the page with the $.99 cost for the same app. I got a screen capture that shows today's date and time along with the App listed at 99-cents.

Now I just need someone to call and get a refund...

Man, the creator of this app has really dropped the ball.

I'll never buy from them, that's for sure. Note well taken.

I got a screen capture as well (both on my Mac and my iPhone). They need to make this right. This is false advertising at its most obvious.

I got SS of both prices also. It said in description $0.99 for today. Their today must of meant just for a few hours. I went to their website and submitted a question for them and asked what the deal was. Haven't heard anything back yet though.

I left them a not so nice note on their website...I detest "bait and switch" cons

I think you may be overreacting. It could very well be Apple's fault.
Half of you people probably don't even golf ... some of you even admit it.

I bet 99¢ is its true value. I have no idea how they've managed to sell it for $25 before.

I don't care if someone golfs or not, nor do I care who's fault it is. If it is Apple's fault then ViewTi could easily put a note up on their site stating there is a problem and it will be fixed shortly, contact Apple and fix the damn problem...it is that easy to remedy the consumer confusion and frustration

It was even advertised on 9to5Mac for $1 today in the 9to5 toys. Its just the point they put it out there for today and then change it back to $25 in the middle of the day. Oh and I do play golf, but $25 is a little ridiculous for the program, but I would have paid $5 or less for it. And I am assuming allot more people would of bought the program for the $0.99 price. I bet they would of made allot more money on the app if they would have kept the price as what they advertised.
