I'm thinking of buying a mac, can u guys help me out, everyone, post the 3 reasons YOU, bought or use Macs and OS X

Example...

1. Apple design
2. iLife
3. Less Viruses

everyone, post YOUR "3 reasons"

1. Sick of Microshit
2. The sexyness of everything macintosh!
3. no crashing!

  1. Windows ME made me do it.
  2. OS X hardly ever crashes, even on my G3 Blueberry iBook (my Hello Kitty purse, if you will).
  3. Macs are freaking sexy.

or ... exactly what me1000 said. ;)

First, being a designery type it was only natural that I'd veer towards them – industry standard and all that.

Secondly, I like how intuitive they are in general. If I want to do something with my Mac I can usually do it without wasting time faffing about trying to get things to work. I've never found Windows-based machines half as simple to use.

Thirdly, why not? :)

1) It never crashes, and Apple doesn't really use improved hardware to make up for sloppy and inefficient coding (read: I can run Mac OS X on the computer in my sig. It's almost 7 years old.)

2) You don't need to wipe and reinstall once a year just to keep your computer running well.

3) Built in Internet sharing over wireless! I can use my iMac as an Airport base station!

1) Style & Uniqueness

2) Compatible with Microsoft/Windows

3) Less/Virtually no Viruses

1. I was annoyed with my windows 98 computer and having to constantly replace autoexec.bat (it keep getting trashed for some reason) Then my parents home Xp machine is just too annoying with all the sounds and that annoying balloon that pops up at the bottom right if you plug anything at all in.

2.The iMac G5 was realased just after the summer holiday (had money from factory job and needed a computer) which was and still is a sexy design, except now i have the core 2 duo 2o inch with 2 gb of ram for the same money as my 1.8ghz 17inch 1gb ram machine.

3.I like being able to get on with my work rather than working on getting the computer to work. (i still use xp a lot, uni computers, home and girlfriends all are xp)

I'm an engineer (well Chemical engineering with management student)

1. Got bored of Windows and Linux was too hard to use for everyday usage

2. Friends are ENTIRELY clueless on how to use it, so they dont ask

3. Can surf "shady" ;) sites without having to worry as much

1. I hate Windows, Office, and have nothing but contempt for Microsoft.
2. Apple history rocks my socks.
3. I really like nice-looking things.

1. Easier, working with the Mac OS makes more sense to me.
2. Better free software inc. iLife.
3. NO VIRUSES, not "less" not "virtually none" there are ZERO viruses.

1. Apple's beautiful hardware and software design
2. Mac OS X, and its UNIX underpinnings
3. Stability and how everything just works.

(3b. No viruses/spyware etc. Always a great source of annoyance when I point this out to friends :p)

1. iLife
2. No spyware/adware removal. Computer never seems to slow down periodically like windows boxes.
3. No drivers

I however dislike the lack of some software.

1. Look/Design, come on! Mac's look great! Laptops are slim and simple.
2. Easy use of OSX, need I say more?
3. Everthing is pretty simple with macs, OSX, Applications, Hardware, etc. All works nicely together.

Reasons I have trouble recommending Apple to others
1. Expensive compared to PC, lack of options (ie. only one 17" model, my friend bought a loaded up Dell 17" for half the price of a MBP :( )

2. Not reliable in my experience, 5 logic board replacements, 2 DVD drive replacements and 1 set of bad Apple RAM between two notebooks is very lacking imho. I figured out I have lost over 3 months in 2 years with my laptops because they were being repaired

3. It is a Windows world, even though Mac's run Windows now for a lot of people I know who wanna buy a new computer, they don't wanna be bothered with having to adapt to a Mac and many programs, etc still don't work in OSX. I have a very hard time trying to switch my parents over, but I am getting there.

1. I'm a big linux user, OS X lets me do the things I normally do in Linux, but easier, more reliably, fancier, and with great support if requried

2. design - look, feel, form factor even the quality is unmatched by any other hardware vendor I'm aware of

3. Productivity, I am so much more productive with OS X than with a Windows OS... the pre-packaged software is excellent and is very easy to use.

I'm not some gumby that just likes an easy to use computer because windows might not be as simple.. no no. Infact, I'm a Systems Analyst, it's my job, my profession to work with and implement the best products available, within the budget presented to me, depending on various factors.

I'm 29 (today), and have been using computers since I was 9 years old (Apple IIc, first machine).. I've been a PC user most of my life (windows/dos) until this year (06)... when I switched to Apple.

just havent looked back :)

1. Reliable with quality hardware (above posts differ, but my experience so far with both my Apples have been excellent, knock on wood)
2. Sick of crappy Microsoft products with a million "security updates" and "bug fixes" every week
3. Perfect for graphic design, web design, web development
4. They are sexy as hell. No computer beat Apple looks.

Well... all the obvious ones* have already been said it seems, so I'll just mention three oft-overlooked reasons:

1. Superb value for money
2. A massive community of enthusiastic users
3. Simplicity

* eg no viruses, no malware, more stable, very compatible, intuitive user interface, stunning design, 'it just works', integrated bundled software, fun to use, runs Windows, company clearly on the up, easy-to-upgrade hardware, retail stores based around strong customer service, all-in-one desktop design with small footprint (iMac), power bricks built in, easiest to use remote control ever, Front Row larger viewing mode, movement sensor in laptops prevents hard disk damage if dropped, magnetic latches, MagSafe power connector disconnects safely if pulled, beautiful dock that tucks away or animates, snappy navigation with the wow factor using Expose, dashboard widgets, upcoming features in Leopard (x10), upcoming products like iTV, well thought-out integration with iPod + iTunes, cool ads, in-built iSight webcams, easy to set up, easy to change languages, culture of continual innovation, culture of releasing people into creativity... and more.

1. quality, they just seem to last. I still have the first mac I bought (an ibook g3 600mhz) and it still runs, and runs faster than many of my friends newer windows machines
2. Much more intuative. It took me a week to figure out osx
3. the os as well as the machines simply look better, clutterless desktop and streamlined design

I'm not saying Apple is perfect, but I do think they are the best company out there doing this kind of stuff. Streets ahead of the pack.
