What's criminal too is the standard 8/8+.

8 - 700/850
8+ - 800/950

Think it's clear why the 6S and 7 are still around. To be honest they're both still perfectly capable.

I was somewhat intrigued during the build-up to all this, but that pricing has just completely extinguished any enthusiasm. Either they have missed out some of the crucial details to justify it, or it's a rip off.

You don't create a £1000 phone and then dedicate your sales pitch to how you can make a cartoon animal face talk. My old Logitech webcam used to be able to do that 10 years ago - it's hardly revolutionary.

I am tempted to get a 7+ to replace my 6S+. Only reason I am doing that is the battery is going on my 6S+.

It is £63 a month on Apple Upgrade Programme as well.

Can't wait until the phone networks release pricing. Going to be mental

Hmm. My 128GB iPhone 7 is at 67GB used so if I buy either phone, I'll have to take off some music I think (Currently 40GB). Was hoping that with the 8 starting at 64GB, the X would start at 128GB - I was disappointed by that. Being on the IUP means that upgrading should be a no-brainer but I'm not sure. Wireless charging would be nice but not sure I want to be a beta tester for the X. Some thought needed.

The price doesn't surprise me...the forums here have been full of suggested prices starting around a grand. I don't mind paying for the 256gb model but jeez, £200 for AppleCare as well is pushing towards £1500

Absolutely no chance I'm buying that. The 8 is bad enough, but a 64GB X is useless to me, and the 256GB model is bordering on immoral. I'm actually a bit shocked at the price.

I'm going for a 256GB 8 (though wishing there was a 128GB for 779 or so) which I intend to use for at least 3 years. £850 for a phone though, can't believe it's got to this.

This is where I am. Got a 6s+ but not even sure I want to upgrade it to anything. Battery is actually still pretty strong. Not sure how it will work with iOS11.

£1149 is insane but I'm certainly buying it to replace my 256gb 7+, 256gb is the only capacity to hold all my stuff and I'm not buying the same damn design since the iPhone 6.

They really should have tried to get the 256gb X to £999 and lowered the price on the others a bit, they could have lowered their profits just a bit.

I'm sure plenty of saps will buy it at that price though. The iPhone 8 looked the better buy IMO but only if you own older versions than the iPhone 7. I was quite annoyed by the pricing of the iPhone X prior to launch but now I've seen it, I'm pretty happy that I wouldn't be missing out by not getting it.

Not sure what's up with 6S+. I wouldn't upgrade at all if not for that.

why are the prices on par with the dollar. Last time I checked the Pound is still higher than the dollar and yet we get $999 for £999
