I have been on Tahoe since .4, and everything works nicely. Messages actually work better for me on Tahoe than they did on Sequoia. But the OS is complex - it could be a million things related to what the OP experiences.

I've been running Tahoe since the first developer beta a year ago. After a few initial problems, everything's been GREAT. Waiting for 6/8/26 for MacOS27 beta😍

iMessages already brittle now routinely beachballs. Great work Apple SDEs! You ought all be fired.

Can you add some more info?

Has it been brittle for just you or are you referencing widespread reported problems? In what way brittle?

iMessages has not caused me issues over many versions of macOS. It occasionally has a few glitches that resolve, which has always suggested to me synchronization delays with iCloud. I have many devices which send and receive the messages. Other than that, based on how I used messages, I've just had no issues.

Do you want some help diagnosing your issue?

I have never had a syncing issue with iCloud until 26.5 MacOS. And I have had Macs since Snow Leopard.

After spending 3 separate and delightful hours today with Apple Support, not a single senior tech could solve an iMessage beach balling, inability to sync issue.

This is a poor design issue that Apple has neglected by prioritizing frou frou things like Liquid Glass. Get a clue Apple, we use computers but they're not fashion accessories when you need to get work done.

Apple seriously needs to do a massive house cleaning of its deadweight.

Did they instruct you to log out of iCloud and log back in?

Apple's software team has been deadweight for years. Ternus needs to rebuild the whole team from the ground up.

To send or not to send: that is the question.
