24 reported cases... that might not seem like much but damn, makes you wonder how many unreported cases there were that people just thought "ouch, that sucked" but didn't complain to official channels.

Damn, my “friend” had one of these, wonder if she had this specific brand or just a copy?

Apple's own leather watch band gives me the same issue. At least these cases are much cheaper and not $150 down the drain.

You do realize that if you took the leather strap back to the Apple Store and showed them your "burn" you'd get your money back immediately, right?

Is it really the manufacturer's problem that you broke the seal?

Lots of products are toxic including old CRTs, batteries, car engines, cleaning products...etc

Who came up with this? I can imagine a typical marketing meeting:
"Let's make a phone case, and fill it with a strong acid, radioactive ink and mercury."
"That would be so cool. We'll sell 263,000 of it."

Lovely.

There are few people I truly despise. Henry Ruschmann is one.
Worst. Invention. Ever.....
While they are admittedly pretty, I truly despise those glittery Christmas cards we seem to receive more and more frequently each year. I'm no physician, but breathing in those tiny particles which come off so easily when handling those cards, can't possibly be good for your lungs. Flame me if you must, but I'd rather do without that loose glitter.

Some of the newer glitter variants seem to be better embedded, and appear not to shed. Yay.

Makes you wonder what other long-term harmful carcinogens and toxins are lurking in our plastics and products. Who are you gonna sue, "China"?

Pitiful amendable people who bought into the dream that chemicals and plastics are safe

But just because a chemical is man-made doesn't automatically make it unsafe. There are plenty of natural chemicals out there that will kill you dead.

You'd think they would use something nontoxic for the liquid. Isn't this a no-brained?

Ha! $$$$$$$$$$$$$
[doublepost=1501795419][/doublepost]Just to add some fun to this.... They might have used propylene glycol as the liquid as this stuff is generally safe. ......Except in the presence of metals, oxygen and heat it degrades into various acids. So when it is used as anti-freeze, anti corrosion additives are added. These can be toxic on their own but shouldn't be acidic.

So maybe they used a poor grade of P-G that reacted with the metal glitter in the heat of a parked car. When a leak occurred, out came skin peel acid.
