Same! Ships 1-2 weeks (in the US at least).

Can't wait! I hope it doesn't take long once it ships. I am assuming it is probably coming from China like most of their products when they first come out. Maybe next week we will see the first delivery confs. At least Apple finally put it up, now the next wait begins.

pretty disappointed about the pricing in Europe.

The price for the new ACD is 1099€, that a hefty 1445$ price tag, so almost 45% up compared to the US price.

Anyways, gotta get one.

Very disappointed with the hefty price tag too, but in the UK store.

£899.00 > $1,407

The US store has it up for $999, the same price as before.

I'm just wondering if this display is the same as what is on the late 2009 27" iMac? They have some of those iMacs in the refurbished store for only a few dollars more than this.

iMac as external display = bad

I've used a 27-inch iMac as an external display for my MBP. And even though it's supported and does work, it's a pain and very annoying. The iMac must actually be booted into OSX for it to function as a separate display. It's very inconvenient and I don't recommended it for that use.

Wow that sucks.. might as well buy a 27" iMac and use that as an external :p
edit: just read the above post. I guess that's inconvenient

For UK/Ireland buyers, it is a better deal to get the Dell U2711. Aside from the fact that it does not usually suffer from yellow tinge, it has superior contrast/vibrance to the 27" iMac, every video input known to man, a USB hub, and is cheaper. ;)

Cheaper U2711? Do you refer to the 20% off offer which brings it to 767 inc del.? Actually the educational price of roughly 750 for the ACD is still cheaper.
But owning a PC I would have to buy a converter and that scares me. but the ACD is soooo beautiful! And I read few times that the IPS glow is not so visible on the ACD.

education price was $950. Or am I reading it wrong?

So who is buying an Atlona AT-DP400 with the 27"?
Tempted to do it but feels like DIY risking to reduce quality...

If you have the opportunity to replace your graphic card, I'd suggest to buy a new one with mini DisplayPort.
That's cheaper than the Atlona adapter and you get a new graphic card "for free".

If you decide to buy the adapter, you'll spend more money. Old graphic card and ugly adapter included.

If you use a notebook, you're screwed. Good luck in that case :)

Just checked with Macconnection.com REP. They told me apple has an ETA on Sep 20th. Already ordered here! :) I just love macconnection, as there's no tax for me (from CA). Can't wait!
