Delivery issue

Just ordered my 27" with 3TB Fusion Drive. Estimated delivery December 24-30. Since I will be away for part of that period I had planned to have it shipped to my local Apple store for pickup and was surprised to find that option not available for my BTO iMac at checkout. Can I arrange for FedEx (or UPS) to hold it for me to pickup when I get back? Why couldn't I have the BTO sent to the Apple store? I may be able to change delivery to a friend's address but many will be traveling as well so I would rather come up with another option. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

P.S. I also ordered a stock 21.5" for my wife to replace her 2006 17.5" that is on its last legs. I am replacing my 2006 20"? that is acting up as well.

I'm in the same boat as you. My delivery is slated for the 21st through the 28th, but I'll be out of town from the 23rd through the 30th. Hopefully it will come before I leave and not be a problem. But I guess I should have a contingency plan. Maybe I can get my neighbor to sign for it... Anyway, I couldn't wait any more and just ordered the thing, regardless of whether I'm here to accept it!

Exact same specs and delivery date as you, also to the UK. Apart from I am getting a trackpad, I wonder if we will see availability in stores before we receive ours.

I dont mind if that is the case really as they will be basic stock ones....

Now for the waiting game...

When will we know a more specific date? Or do we just need to wait for an e-mail from UPS or something?

I am away for the Christmas week (from 23-28) right in the middle of my estimate..... so will need to get someone to sit at mine waiting....

New Zealand Delivery

Just ordered 27" bto

delivery 21 - 27 December. Will interesting to see how Christmas effects things!!

Post all your info on shipping and delivery times below, my BTO iMac with i7 and a 680mx delivers on the 20th-24th of December.

So post below your BTO orders and delivery times.

:)

When I first called Apple this was my delivery date, but I got another call. When I got back to them 20 minutes later and ordered I was told 27-28th December.

Got myself the (maxed) 27"
With the following configuration:
•3.4GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.9GHz
•8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB (Will get max RAM through Crucial)
•1TB Fusion Drive (No need for more as I do video editing and keep archives on externals once finished with)
•NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2GB GDDR5 (oo-rah)
•Magic Trackpad

And some sort of Trackpad numpad? I need a numpad and the way he described it it sounded cooler than the trackpad that clips to the wireless keyboard.

I have been working of a 2007 iMac, and was going to get the 2011 last November but figured "I'd wait till May for the 2012"... Now that Mayvember is here, I made no excuses and got it with bells and whistles!!!

SO freaking happy right now.
