using a 27" dell aio right now.

for $2000 you get i7 ivy bridge, 2560x1440, 2tb hd, additional ssd, 8gb ram, 6usb3 including side ports that charge when computer is off, bluray, tv tuner and remote.

the system is user upgradable and it is very easy to access any component.

again, this entire system cost $2000 out the door. a 3gb usb3 external cost $159.

a similar imac is $3200. a 3gb thunderbolt external is $409.

i wasn't about to invest $3609 on an imac that has year old technology.

just my opinion and experience here.

Beat iMac in every aspect? Really?

Dell XPS has Bluray drive, a bit faster i7 CPU (actually it's still a slower than 3.4GHz i7 on current iMac, go figure .. but it also costs $200 more), 8GB of RAM in 2 slots

But iMac has 4 slots of RAM, much better GPU, 2 Thunderbolt ports, and also ability to run OSX and Windows with no technical barrier.

You don't have to agree with me here, but saying "Dell winds hands-down, in every aspect" is total FUD either.

Thanks for overlooking it, 2011 iMac still have better GPU than 2012 Dell with the exact same MSRP. That's gotta means something, right? :) But I believe you might wanna say iMac can hold 32GB of RAM (4x8GB) while Dell can only hold 16GB (2x8GB).

Do you know what benchmarks are?

Do you know I posted and compared scores for both iMac and XPS already?

Sorry, I missed that. The Mac is much better looking, and I love OSX,but I wouldn't call the Dell a bad knockoff, just not a really good one.

I do like that you can use it as a monitor like the iMac,this would allow me to use my Mac Mini with it.I wonder how noise the Dell is? The Macs have me so spoiled.
