Albany, NY here. I was excited, because it was supposed to be Oct. 1st shipping, and then it just went out a few days ago. I ordered at 4 AM local time on Sept 23rd.

mine came today... i'm in chicago
i had to order cable extensions off apple.com for 2 it was just over $100.. then i come to find out that other world computing (macsales.com) has them for $12 each... bummer... oh well.. i knew i should have checked that first...
just sharing the info...
but if you have a tower and want the monitor away from the computer, you'll need this cable.. the cable that comes with it is 3ft 6inches.. WAY too short..

Just got mine delivered today, ...still satisfied!

Very glad you posted the pic, and VERY glad you have a much better color temp in your pics over the original post.

I know there are some users complaining about the height issue, but your method is really the best way of solving that problem, get something to prop it up and call it a day.

Good to know, I still have my fingers crossed for two of them with a new Mac Pro.

Just got mine delivered today, and I am very satisfied. I haven't seen anyone post up pictures of a new 27" iMac setup with one of these, so I took one. As you can see, I used the cheapest thing I had (paper) to prop the thing up. Far from epic fail, it is still an inconvenience, to say the least. The cable makes it with about an inch or so to spare...which cannot be rectified by placing the screen to the right because that is where the DVD drive is. Not the end of the world, but they really could have thought this one out much better beforehand. Talk about poor planning. Overall, though...still satisfied!

Hey that looks great! Thanks for posting. I have been waiting for this since I got my 27" iMac (my first Mac). I was instantly spoiled by the display of the iMac and painfully endured not having an equal resolution secondary display. I hated having to resize windows when dragging from the iMac to the 1080p secondary display (26" Vizio ) I currently have connected to it.

What do you think about adding an Ergotron arm to the ACD to help with height issues?

Sure, why not, if that's something you are into. Could work quite nicely if done properly. On the other hand....I had a lot of paper laying around :D.

Do these work well with a PC? I know they work with PCs that have DisplayPort capable gfx cards, but Anandtech says that on a PC you can't change brightness settings?

I was just curious if anyone had tried using an ACD27" on a PC, and how the "default" brightness settings looked. Is not being able to change brightness on PCs a show stopper?

I do know that there is an update to use the Monitor on a PC that was released a few days ago. It is needed for Boot Camp, and presumably is for PCs as well.
