As we noted earlier today, software updates released by Apple today indicated that the release of the company's new 27-inch LED Cinema Display appeared imminent. We can now push things one step further, as customers have begun receiving shipping notices for their orders, some with delivery set for as early as tomorrow.

Apple's shipping department is also gearing up to start pushing out the new Apple TVs as well, as we've heard from a number of customers who have seen their credit cards being charged for their orders, a sign that shipment should occur in the very near future.

Not for me :(

Then again I did cancel my order on day one and re-ordered at night time since I remembered about the education store (and I'm a student). I also got rid of my two day shipping but saved over $200 in the process so it was worth it to wait.

I pre ordered my Apple TV the day after the keynote and they charged my card that day

UPDATE: Apple pulled the charge.......but they did originally charge my card the same day.....meh?

I just want to see one in the store, if they are shipping so soon, maybe apple stores have or will be receiving them shortly... I'd also be nice for a review to pop up about these, see if indeed they are just an imac display or if apple did anything different to them.

i cant wait to get the new :apple:TV!

Same here. I ordered one for my Dad for Christmas and its killing me not to get one for myself. I have roughly 14 or 15 terabytes of movies on my desktop (and several externals plugged into the desktop) that would LOVE an Apple TV to compliment them.

That's a whole lot of movies! Assuming they are 720p .mp4 files (which is the max Apple tv supports), that's at least over 3,000 movies!

It appears my card was just billed. Looking forward to trying the Apple TV, although my main reason to purchase it won't be available til November with the release of iOS 4.2 and AirPlay.

Lol! I forgot to mention the movies are ripped using the Universal setting in Handbrake (not sure what type of resolution that is) but there are also full rips which are around 6 - 8 gig a piece of each of my movies in there too which is what hogs the space.

Years ago I started ripping full rips of my movies and keeping the originals safe and sound. I've lost far too many movies from loaning to friends, or having them "moved" when I go to work overseas.

Now that they are all on hard drives they are nice and safe (unless something happens to both sets of backups).

Apple charged my card the same day I ordered my Apple TV on Sept. 1.
Was that charge actually debited from the account? Or was that a temp hold that disappeared? I had a temporary authorization that went away after a couple of days. It's back now, though. Shipping is imminent.

Your absolutely right......my charge is gone.

Still no charge as of today either....probably tomorrow....I hope

Yup. Apple sucked the money out of my account today for the Apple TV. Will probably arrive just in time with my new Samsung 0.30" thick LED 3D HDTV. :p

Ordered my Apple TV on announcement date. My bank shows the charge pending as of today.

what the hell... i ordered the 27" on the day it was available for order and it says that it'll ship on the 1st of october. i might as well just wait until it's at my local apple store and order it from there.

Apple Japan

Apple Japan pulled the old Apple TV off of their website a few weeks ago and have not mentioned the new Apple TV at all.

This does not bode well.

I was at the Apple store yesterday and the staff there still did not know when Apple was going to release inventory yet. Very strange.

I think it is absolutely ABSURD that they won't tell Apple stores when they're getting the 27" ACD.

They should have an EXACT DATE, and everyone working there should know about it.

Ridiculous.
