Best Buy Geting Strange Shipments From Apple

I Work At A Boston Area Best Buy And There Is Something Very Strange Going On Here.. Either There Is A Huge Sale Coming, Or Something About To Be Announced Because We Are Getting Slammed With Macs.. 112 Peices So Far In 2 Ups Shipments And One Fedex Shipment. The Receiver Said She Was Told To Be For 6am Today Which Is Also Strange. Anyone Else Work At Best Buys??? Whats Going On??????
 
Guess Best Buy wants us to put on makeup eh?

I've a Macbook and iMac in the sales paper but its sold only in select locations.
 
In that article, one guy made the comment, "I'd rather them not sell macs... the staff there are idiots."

I kind of agree with this. Not necessarily that they are idiots, but in my experience with Best Buy, they just don't get very good training. Especially when it comes to Macs.
 
I Cant Type Anything From Here As I Am Using A Floor Computer. Ill Write More When I Get Back To My Dorm. But Let Me Tell You That If You Have Been Waiting For A New Mac You Will Be Very Happy Come Wednesday. The Receiver Said That They Are Going Out Tursday Night And That Like 8 People Are Working Overnights To Put Up Displays And Stuff. I Know The Manager At 4pm So I Will Defginetly Know More Then The Manager That Is Now On Is A Dick. I Can See The Box Numbers As It All Went Directly To Central Lock Up. Later

Is it really that hard to research a product before you buy it? :rolleyes:

It's not just Apple products, but all of their products. I saw a woman comparing two *CRT* TV's and asked the rep why one was $300 and the other was $600 and her response was "the <moreexpensivebrand> has a much wider viewing angle".

No kidding. I for one would LOVE to have my local Best Buy selling Macs because in our entire city there's not once place that sells them. The closest store that actually has Macs is Indianapolis, 60 miles away.
 
yeah

i work at a futureshop...and there is a couple of boxes(around 4) that say (brown ones with apple stickers..(barcode etc) that say "do not sell before 02/22/07...so maybe something is being annouced (or they are just iTV and aiport etc) the boxes are the size of maybe 2-3 ps3 boxes together...

Well, it isn't as much about research for me. I kind of know what I want, but don't know much about computers as a whole. But when I buy a product from someone, I hope that they can answer most of my questions about it. Best Buy has never been able to do that for me. I've had guys tell me things that I found out later to be BS that they must have pulled out of their booty.

Well, I take that back. I found one guy at the local Best Buy who knows what he's talking about.

I guess I've just been spoiled with how knowledgable the guys at the Mac stores have been.
