That's what she says. Let's keep an eye on this and see where she is in another year.
Umm... something tells me she's not exactly being truthful about what she eats though.
Umm... given her photo, I don't believe she's being entirely truthful about her eating habits. Has nothing to do with the Sun.
Peterkro said:Given the choice between believing a woman I've never heard of and know nothing about and anything printed in the Scum I'm going with the woman.
What is that supposed to mean? Due to the Sun's slant on her story, you've decided she's dishonest?
Oh ok, so you're judging her character by what's written in the sun, and what she looks like.

No one's judging her character by what she looks, we're judging her eating habits by what she looks.
The point being all we know about her eating habits is from a source that perpetually lies.
The point being she feeds her 8 month old kids McDonald's. Of course, being the good mum that she is, she pew-chews it for her kids as they have no teeth yet.![]()

Yeah, so says the Sun. The other, dare I say more credible, article says she may feed them the odd chicken nugget. Slight difference.
Oh, that's better then. I forgot (and coming from a medical background I should have known better), overeating is the only way to obesity.![]()

I don't think anybody's saying she doesn't have a problem but according to the other article she has lost 10 stone in a year and is working with a dietician and others so she can continue to get her weight under control. The rest is the usual sensationalist rubbish.I don't think it is a medical issue because she just lost 11 stone, which means she can lose weight if she really wants to. If it was a medical issue she wouldn't have that much control over it.
Also, I know that there are conditions that provoque serious weight gain, but are you seriously telling me that it's possible that someone gets to 40 stone from a medical issue alone?

40 stone is not just obese, it's morbidly obese.
+1But it's so much more fun to point and laugh. And it takes the attention off one's own failings, which is always therapeutic.
I don't remember the article going into detail about how she lost the weight, so you can't say for certain that she had complete control over it.
Yes, it is possible to become morbidly obese through medical reasons alone.

Pituitary adenoma.

I'm not sure - for her case at least. Cushing's Disease (which I think you're referring to) tends to cause central weight gain. It's not unusual to see a Cushing's patient with a lot of extra weight in the midsection, but with thin arms and legs (central obesity). Additionally, Cushing's is rare, affecting about 5 per million. She very well could have an atypical presentation in regards to weight, but I would have thought that if she had Cushing's she would also have other problems that would have been noticed by now - osteoporosis, lack of menstrual periods (or highly irregular ones), and frequent kidney stones.
Somewhile ago on MacRumors a "member" posted about his amazing weight loss.
Everyone was effusive in their praise.
No one suggested he was obviously a "bad person" for getting to be fat in the first place.
However, here is a woman who I'll bet none of us know personally and even with the reported fact that she has lost well over an adult's body weight she is still judged by her past.
Why the disbelief that she just may be on the right track?
If she had gained 11 stone since it might be a different story.
I just don't get people sometimes

I mentioned no names, just made a general and apposite observation.I for one am not pointing and laughing. I don'ts see why you and peterkro think I am.
