No USB-C or USB 3 transfer speeds to my iPad Pro even on my PC using ASMedia USB 3.1 Type-C controller.

Apple wants to sell you iPad Pro 2 to enable speedy transfer.

Is this a hardware limitation or software?

Just wondering if a jailbreak tweak would enable USB-C or USB 3 transfer speeds.

I got no clue. I have never jailbroken my iPad Pro 12.9"

I read on iFixit teardown that this model has USB 3 chip to enable speedy transfers when used with original Apple USB C to Lightning cable and a corresponding USB-C Port on recent MacBook Pros or PCs equipped with USB-C. So I purchased that ridiculously expensive Apple cable from Apple store and tried my luck.

Windows Task manager reports C: disk read speed between 30-40 MBps. (Emphasis on capital B) That means transfer is not going over USB 2 speeds.

iPad's internal storage write speed is around 172 MBps, My PC's 950 Pro can read over 2000 MBps. This means there is no bottleneck anywhere. USB 3 or USB C should see speeds above 100 MBps.

Clearly it's a software limitation. Apple clearly hosed us first generation users. They have to, isn't it? How will the next iPad Pro sell? Now next time they can add an extra bullet point to their powerpoint slide to emphasize faster sync speeds.

I have jailbroken my iPad Pro 12.9 and 9.7 but have not heard of any tweak yet to enable faster transfer speeds in the iPad Pro 12.9.

I am hoping it is possible with a jailbreak tweak.
