2G iPod Shuffle In Stores On Friday

Got mine through this morning from the AppleStore. Its absolutely wicked! Very, very diddy and comes with this cool little docking station to charge it and interface with my Mac. Looking forward to a trip to the gym tonight...

got my sister to do a real world test of prady16's iPod Shuffle hair clip theory, she says it could actually work as a hair clip/mp3 player
Btw, she's already stolen it from me, and is trying it on with various clothing options.

Why???Hopefully, Apple are only doing this while they use up the leftover old-style earphones, and will soon change to the new and improved ones.
Preparing to be PO'd
I placed my order weeks ago...in Sept. It's listed as having shipped on Monday, but the current tracking status shows as:
Oct 31, 2006 11:44 PM Clearance in progress SUZHOU CHINA
I think the odds of having this before I could have walked into the store and picked one up are slim at this point.

I called the Applestore before ordering and was told it shipped with the new headphones. I'm going to complain if it comes with the old ones because that is the excuse I used to justify ordering the Shuffle. I had just recieved a Nano as a gift the month before but wanted to upgrade the buds.
I just called Apple (after recieveing my old-style earbuds with my shuffle) and the rep told me that the orginal plan was to ship them with the new style buds, but that "Apple changed it's mind about this" and decided last week to ship then with the old-style ones.
I was like what the hell - thanks for telling those of us that preordered that we would be getting the same crappy headphones that I already have 5 pairs of....

I really hope the weak clip issue is just because it is a shuffle from an early batch. Would anyone who already has a new shuffle like to comment on this?

My clip feels just fine.
If I get the new iPod Shuffle 2G with old headphones, i'm sending it right back. That is one of the reasons I bought the Shuffle. Instead of spending $29 for some headphones I spent $50 dollars more and got a shuffle...
Conversion to 128-kbps AAC
This question is for those with new-ish (Intel) laptops who check the option to convert high bitrate files to 128-kbps AAC before copying to the Shuffle:
Does it take long to convert the files? I have a 1GHz TiBook, and it is taking forever to get those files on there with the option checked...

Focus Heimi
All four of those photos are focused on the background instead of on the iPod. Would you please re-do making sure you are in focus?
Turn Off That Convert High Bitrate Option
You should only use that option to convert AIFF CD Audio files NOT mp3 files. Your quality will go in the toilet if you try to convert mp3 directly to AAC at any bit rate. Plus it does take a long time to make that crappy conversion.
I Own A G2 Shuffle!!
The local Apple Store was not selling the 2nd Generation Shuffles today... So I went and bought one at the Best Buy right down the road for the same price. Turns out, I'm reading they're definitely not supposed to have them for sale yet. Anyhow, get them while they're hot in Aventura, FL!
