I got two defective ones in a row as well. The guy at the Apple store didn't blame me for swapping them out. He said that the screen is what's advertised as being amazing, so it should be perfect -- very nice and helpful. I've gotten great support so far.

The sample size of Retina Macbook Pros is large enough where one can ignore issues such as replacement. Yes such generalizations can and should be made when creating simple statistical models.

Regardless that's not what it looked liked your post implied (and I'm not saying that is explicitly what you wanted to convey). It looked as though you were stating that because he got two faulty machines there was a significantly lower chance of getting a faulty third one.

Honestly though, the chance of getting a faulty machine are pretty low and the OP is more unlucky than anything else.

I actually wasn't the one that originally posted about the chances of the OP getting another faulty machine were low...

I just felt like I needed to defend the comment, as it seemed as though a smirky remark was being made about a response that was intended to help and reassure.

Nevertheless, I was probably a bit rash in my "suck it" statement slapped in at the end there. All in good fun, I suppose. My apologies, I meant no harm :D.

honestly, there will be something wrong with every machine if you look hard enough for it... thats the downside of human assembly
