I have no need for an isight in my display. Mostly because I already have an isight. I guess if they did add one into the displays - I could sell the isight haha.

One part of the Mac Pro I don't like is I can't use a remote with it to use Front Row. Anyone who has a Mac Pro use one of those IR receivers? I don't understand why Apple didn't include one...

Yea I wish I could use it as well since the mac pro is connected to my 52" sony bravia xbr4 and using front row with a keyboard kinda sucks, I wanna use the remote as well... but then I could just hook up the mbp to the sony via remote.

Have you tried one of the new Alum. BT keyboards? Not a remote I know, but thin, small and light. Wish apple would put a touch screen on it.

you know I was considering one of those and it looks really cool and small too. Are the battery life pretty good on those?? I hear some people complaining that the battery life is so short and others praising that its good.

That sounds like a good alternative. But my Mac Pro doesn't have Bluetooth installed. Is that something that I can easily upgrade?

I'm guessing you have the first gen mac pro since no bluetooth (which now are in even the base line mac pros just no airport).

I remember I took my mac pro to the mall to the apple store and they got it installed for me (bought the bluetooth module from there). But it looks like an easy operation and you can order one online.

Unless apple will give you the bluetooth for free, buy a USB bluetooth dongle from a third party vendor. They are very cheap.

But that puts an ugly dongle to stick out either on the front or the back~! And its not nice and clean + you use up an usb and I know we love to plug as many other stuff to the mac pro as we can!

I looked around on Apple's site and didn't see one to order. Would I have to order it from somewhere else?

I recommend you compare prices before you buy the apple version.

Also, I will tell you that my original set up consisted of the small wireless keyboard and bluetooth mighty mouse. The keyboard is really eye catching and goes well with the white mighty mouse. The both of them sitting there wireless in front of the monitor looked great...like something out of a magazine. I fooled myself into working this way beyond normal tolerance because they looked so good on my desk. No battery problems with my keyboard but its not an extended keyboard. You use your number pad more than you think and in the end I went back to my wired keyboard. My mouse was a total disaster. It would not work in bootcamp first of all and it seemed to catch a bad case of the shakes and just deteriorated over time. At first just a bit of unresponsiveness and skipping to the point where it just wasnt usable. I went back to my microsoft trackball. I think it may have something to do with leopard as I remember it worked fine under tiger and not everyone has this issue but enough people do to create decent activity on the official support board.

I use a wired new alum. keyboard and LOVE IT along with a wired mighty mouse. I really enjoy that mouse mostly for the side scrolling. Sure it gets dirty sometimes but it's an easy fix.

I would just want to get something that I can use from a distance haha. Say if I put a DVD in or something. Maybe the bluetooth could work for that situation?

I hate the mighty mouse because the click always ends up not working. And you have to really dig in there to clean whatever gunk is in the clicker part of the mouse... either way I got a logitech mx400

Best mouse I've used so far under leopard. I love the left side buttons I use for expose, one for desktop and other button for all windows. And I use the left and right scroll buttons for back and foward via safari and works very nice! The drivers can be d/led from logitech.com and works very well and no crashes or any problems at all! :D

But can that mouse side scroll? I work in a lot of files where that comes in really handy and I am very used too it. If there was another mouse that could do that, I'd be all over it.

My might mouse gets dirty sure, but I try to keep my hands clean and it seems to go pretty good. I wonder if Apple is going to update it sometime. Somehow make it easier to clean or something.

I use the Microsoft 6000 Mouse Far better and more comfortable than the mighty mouse and it does side scroll

I use the two side buttons one for spaces and one for expose.

You can go to system preference and customize the mouse buttons to do anything. Originally the left and right scroll button did side scrolling but I changed it to foward and back for safari.

You can customize it to your hearts content.. literally any of the buttons can be customized to do anything, even pressing the left side scroll button can type the letter a.

take a look:

Man this mouse tracking is very very accurate and a pleasure to use as well.

Plus the mighty mouse left clicker always gets messed up even if I clean it just 5 minutes later it gets dirty or just doesnt work again and it gets frustrating as hell and yes I wash my hands every few hours very cleanly.

The only solution for the mighty mouse I remember for a while that I used was to place a small napkin on top of the mouse and place my hand on top of the napkin and it worked like a charm.

Hmm this is pretty interesting.

Can I pick up one of those at like BestBuy or something? Just so I can try it out in my hand and see if I like it. I'm pretty used to the mighty mouse, been using it for a long time now...

this thread kinda changed subjects a lot haha

thanks again for everyones comments. it's why this place is awesome. some many people with sooo much info.
