3.0 release at Midnite?

I was thinking the same thing. I'm wondering when Apple will "flick the switch" and allow us to start downloading. I normally wake up at 4:30am EST, so I'll check then. If it's available, I'll download and install it then. If not, I'll have to wait until I get home from work.
 
well midnight here is in 5.5 hours. Assuming the poster saying 3.0 had been released already in Australia was genuine I am hoping that after midnight here I will be able to download.
Can't wait.
Will watch back episodes of house to keep me awake
 
if you guys are this jazzed to get it why don't you just find the GM and put it on. I did a week ago.
 
as much as i'd like for that to happen... it would be completely out of character for :apple: to not build up as much anticipation as possible!
 
I'd laugh my ass off if they waited until 11:59 PM Hawaiian time tomorrow. They can still claim that it was released on the 17th in at least one part of the US if they did that :D
 
You can actually work out when this firmware is going to be released.
First work your way through the Apple sites in the different time zones that show the date for release. You will find 2 that are close to each other on which the date will change. Here are 2:

Apple India (June 17th) - http://www.apple.com/in/iphone/softwareupdate/

Apple Thailand (June 18th)- http://www.apple.com/asia/iphone/softwareupdate/
(I know the link says Asia but this was from the Thailand Apple site)

India is +0530 UTC
Thailand is +0700 UTC

Here is the fixed time for midnight between 17th and 18th June for the 2 countires, the launch should be between these 2 times.

Thailand - http://www.timeanddate.com/worldcloc...=0&sec=0&p1=28

From this information you should be able to work out the release time where you are.
 
I'm in the UK so i believe midnight here would still be 4pm PDT?? (BST is +8).

I dont go to sleep until like 2 or 3 in the morning so theres no harm in trying before i go to sleep.

That post looked like a fake, plus doesn't the :apple:AUS site say 18th?

Too many people going on about how they've had 3.0 for ages...Most people just get the updates when they come out, enough with the scoffing.

Me, being the huge loser I am, will probably wait all night until it's released and play with it for a while even though I have finals tomorrow.
 
I'm up until 1-2 AM anyway so I'll be up regardless. I really don't think it'll launch at midnight but I also didn't expect the 3.0 and 3GS to come out so soon either.
 
It won't be released at midnight. If anything it would be midnight PDT because that is Apple. So you're better off waking up at 430 EDT if you do that anyway. Its not going to be released until later in the morning or in the afternoon though.
