The green dots show they are online for so many minutes after their last post. I think vBulletin is set for 15 minutes standard but some forums will show people still logged in for hours after their last post to make the forum seem busier.

according to o2 its 6pm here (uk) for 3.0 release.
i have no idea what time this is in various parts of the us. juts thought i would throw it in to see if this ties up with your info..
i am hoping they will release at the same time.

I believe that's 10am Cupertino time, which fits in with Apples typical schedule I believe.

Personally i would wait until friday and you get your 3GS, it will give you a way bigger hard on when you finally have your 3GS running 3.0, the software update is half the fun of all this new stuff!

Good morning everyone! It's 7:07 am here Cupertino Time and still no update I can't believe this thread I created is still alive, midnight has pass and this thread is basically useless now. I'm glad I didn't stay awake the whole night. I was hoping 3.0 would be available now though before I go to work, oh well, back to work without the 3.0 update. On the other hand, I could go home for lunch and get the update if it is available at that time

Bear this in mind before installing the software.

So I'd say it's best to avoid that. We probably only have to wait a couple more hours.
