The green dots show they are online for so many minutes after their last post. I think vBulletin is set for 15 minutes standard but some forums will show people still logged in for hours after their last post to make the forum seem busier.

according to o2 its 6pm here (uk) for 3.0 release.
i have no idea what time this is in various parts of the us. juts thought i would throw it in to see if this ties up with your info..
i am hoping they will release at the same time.

I believe that's 10am Cupertino time, which fits in with Apples typical schedule I believe.

Well I was fairly confident that when i plugged the phone in this morning 3.0 would be out.. But alas that was much to assuming. off to work.

Still not out? I'm suddenly very glad I gave in and went to bed. I had assumed it would come out mere minutes after I shut the lid on the laptop.

The rumors say 9 or 10 Cupertino time, so 4 or 5 hours left!

That's funny--somebody said that right before I went to bed, but I didn't think much of it. Unfortunately I'll be at work for the next 10 hours and unable to do much with it. :(

Yeah, but the update will still be there tomorrow I guess, but I know it sucks I want it ASAP to :D

I was going to wait for my 3G S before updating my 2G to 3.0, but I can't take it...definitely updating the software to hold me over until Friday :D

Good morning everyone! It's 7:07 am here Cupertino Time and still no update :p I can't believe this thread I created is still alive, midnight has pass and this thread is basically useless now. I'm glad I didn't stay awake the whole night. I was hoping 3.0 would be available now though before I go to work, oh well, back to work without the 3.0 update. On the other hand, I could go home for lunch and get the update if it is available at that time

You can't believe it's still alive? Oh brother...this is what we've been waiting months for!!

hey guys, i've found something.

http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...090617.LlI87/iPhone2,1_3.0_7A341_Restore.ipsw

the file is 298 mb.
my 3.0 GM version is 230 mb.

maybe this is it?

can anyone with hi speed internet check that out?

From: http://www.blogsdna.com/3585/iphone-os-30-gm-gold-master-leaked-on-torrent-websites.htm

This version of iPhone OS 3.0 should only be deployed on devices dedicated for iPhone OS 3.0 GM Seed software development. By installing iPhone OS 3.0 GM Seed software on your Authorized Test Devices, these Devices are permanently “locked” into testing mode and cannot be restored to an earlier release of iPhone OS. Bear this in mind before installing the software.

So I'd say it's best to avoid that. We probably only have to wait a couple more hours.
