Hopefully GPS and WiFi will be repaired. Both were killed by the 3.0 update on my 3G. Others on the Apple boards have experienced one or both issues, and restoring doesn't help. (GPS is usually very slow and miles off-target. WiFi works for a while after the 3.0 update, and then reception dies to nothing after several days.) Of course, not everyone has these issues--so hopefully Apple isn't overlooking them.

If you have GPS or WiFi issues--or anything else for that matter--do what I did, and let Apple know :)

I actually just went to the apple store yesterday (fifth avenue nyc) for this and the genius told me it was an issue he had never heard of before. They believed me though, so they swapped out my phone. Before the swap my GPS was not working AT ALL. No GPS lock no matter how long I waited. Now it works most of the time when I have a clear view of the sky, but I still think it was faster and more consistent under 2.2.1

How to get MMS working on 3.1 beta 2

Once you have 3.1 beta 2 installed, call AT&T (best if you have a friend that works there) tell them you need MMS enabled on your account. You don't need another phone or anything. I explained to my friend at AT&T that I had the new beta and I wanted to test MMS and she took the iPhone messaging plan off and put the regular TXT and MMS on. I had to reboot my phone afterwards and the change took about 2 hours. I tried to send a pic and it worked! I followed the same process for my girlfriends phone.

:)

We both have 8gig AT&T iPhone with 3.1 Beta 2 installed. Both phones are not jailbroken or hacked in anyway.

I tried this, its been over 2 hours and MMS isnt working, anyone else try? any ideas? thanks!

I have heard that MMS from an iphone results in a pretty crappy image. Anyone confirm that?

I just tried this, ( to call ATT and tell them I am beta testing the 3.1 with MMS) I got the stupidest person ever. He tried to talk me into believing that the problem was that ATT didnt have the capability to do MMS. I didnt bother showing him how, they do, and all he has to do is activate it. OH well, stupid people need jobs too :)
