How did he buy 3? I thought you could only buy 2.
Based on what I'm seeing in the line I'm in... You bring your asian grandmother.

Of the 15 people they counted off to get an iPad today, 13 are asian (including lil asian me but I'm no reseller). And of the 13 then I'd say half are asian ladies over 50 and most of them are wearing medical masks.

It is not a problem for me if you bring your grandmother to an Apple store for iPad 2. As long as everyone follows the rule, 2 ticket per customer, it is a fair game. If you want to get an iPad on the first day, be an early bird and get up earlier than those Asian grandmoms. :)

If you were to say "I was at the store and a bunch of british people were in line" or " I was waiting in line and a bunch of people from michigan were in line" would it sound racist in the least? This has nothing to do with ethnicity. It could be a line full of leprechauns for all I care. I have no problem in the least if people bought them to send to family members because theyre expensive there etc etc etc. but these are supposedly going back overseas to be sold in stores.

I wasn't offended by your original statement, but I can see how someone could take offense.

The point is that if race wasn't an issue, then why bring it up? Would your story be any less effective if you just said "people" and not "asian people"?

There are folks out there that are prejudiced against others for whatever reason. Perhaps folks that don't like Asians will read your story and have another reason to hate. It's perpetuating a notion that other may use to justify their own racist behavior.

Ok now I gotcha. I see what you're saying. I guess by saying "asian" I'm trying to say "its a specific group of people that are organized". I really hope my statement didn't offend anyone but I stand by it. Having our stores depleted only to fill stores elsewhere cheats the consumers over here. I just have a real hard time trying to rationalize this as being ok.
