Sorry, but that doesn't really explain what I'm seeing. I get your point, but I'm not jerking them out all the time. Plus this is with cables that get very light use. It's across cables that I use and those that my wife uses.

Plus, I don't have this issue with ANY of the quality third party cables I have bought. Some have failed in different ways, but literally NONE of my 20 plus other cables have done this.

Well, there's some behavior that's diffferent between users that is a contributing factor. I've never had a cable fall apart on me, and I've been using them as long as they've existed.

So, something about the way I use them, or something about the way you use them, or some combination is the reason why we have such juxtaposed experiences.

I will grant that. As I sit here charging with a six foot amazon cable that is so old the lettering has worn off. We keep two of them at our living room couches and they get the living hell beat out of them because of the traffic here. Cheaper than apple cables and nothing is wrong with them.
