I would recommend anyone looking to add a 30" monitor to their MacBook Pro to read this: http://store.apple.com/us-hed/product/MB571Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjkyNjI0Mg

I notice that a couple people have had success (see above). However, I have tried with three different unibody MacBook Pros, and four different 30" Apple Cinema Displays (not third party) and two different adapters, and always had at best an occasional flicker. For my applications this was not acceptable--I can't have the screen flicker off during a presentation, for instance.

This problem is not present with the older version of the MacBook Pro.

I'd really like to see the people above's set up. I dealt with Apple for 45 days trying to solve the problem until we finally gave up and just refunded my money.
