In an effort to better organize the information regarding these new MBPs, I figured it might be easier if I put this form, and you just copy and paste the answers.. if you answered in the other thread, please answer again so this one can be more definitive..

To find the screen manufacturer, open up system preferences and go to Display.. Then go to the Color tab, select the Color LCD profile, and then click on Open Profile.. The information is displayed on line 13.. 9C67 is LG.. 9C68 is Samsung

To find the manufactured week, it is located within your serial number, found on the bottom of the packaging box. It starts with W87XX. The first two numbers after the 7 is your manufacturing week.

Other Comments: Definite yellow hue at the bottom third when using calibrated profile. When using Iwoot's or default Apple profile, yellow hue not as noticeable because all whites are slightly off white/yellowish.

Right arrow key does not work. So: besides the display yellow and keyboard key, everything else is, literally, perfect. I'm sending it back tomorrow because I don't want to repair a new computer.

Other Comments: Recalibrated for warmth of colour profile. Yellow hue only if viewed at an angle. Makes my 15 inch G4 Powerbook seem like a heavy, under-powered hot-plate, and goes like a firecracker.

Display is perfect after calibration. Prior to calibration, the entire display had a yellow cast. Default "Color LCD" profile appears to lack blue and push green.

I hate to ruin the cadance of responses thus far, but one important other defect has been left out that should be noted. That is the scratching, hissing, and squealing when using the headphone jack. The electrical interference is important to a lot of pro audio folks and it would be nice to know how widespread this problem is...Thanks!

Added the option about the headphone jack, yes its there but its not enough to bug me as its only there if there is no sound/music playing (which would be the only time id have a headset on so this is a non-issue for me ;)). Otherwise im very very happy with my brand new :apple:!! Im just glad I was lucky, and from the looks of this forum was one of the few who got a good samsung panel :rolleyes:

If you experienced issues,
Did calibrating the LCD fix the problem: Calibrated the screen as the default LCD profile left a yellowish cast over the entire screen, not just the bottom 1/3. Yellow now only visible (around fonts particularly) if viewed from the side.
(Edit 02/07/2007. Bottom third of screen shows yellowing, but not offensively so. On examination, this appears to be bound up with the narrow viewing angles, as the yellowing disappears upon lifting the base and tippping the screen back.)

Did exchanging the MBP fix the problem: May yet do, as the firmware governing the internal fans does not appear to be working, otherwise all is fine with this laptop. The screen is much better than the 9C60 panel from the previous MBPC2D.

Screen Flickering at 100% brightness: I don't think it flickers when it's at 100 % brightness, but it clearly flickers when it's not at 100 % brightness.

I have not yet contacted Apple about the issues. I'll probably do that tomorrow.

II did have some crazy sleep issues during my car ride down to Florida yesterday (I am on vacation). I was operating off of the battery, and when I would close the laptop, it would go to sleep for a few moments, and then kick back on with the display on full blast and I could not turn it down for some reason. I think I fixed the problem by messing around with the Energy settings. But it really freaked me out...so I went ahead and uninstalled Parallels and moved my HDD back to one OS X Partition and deleted Windows from Boot Camp. Now it seems like it takes it longer to boot up. I will probably do a clean install of OS X when I get home. That way I can just start from square one and see if I have any more sleep issues. I feel sure it was an operator error. I'm a noob to OS X...so it's certainly possible.

Other Comments:
It is actually fairly noticeable. The default calibration is particularly yellowish on the whole screen although more so on the bottom. It's not unbearable or anything and I will try further calibration. I hesitate to return it because otherwise this thing is tip-top. No dead/stuck pixels is great.

Edit: I used SuperCal and it helped quite a bit. Still some yellowish near the bottom but it looks much better overall! :)
