Same exact size as you. I've already posted similar images, here and elsewhere, and the responses have been the same as yours: The 38 looks better, but you could pull of the 42. Personally, I think the 42 looks big on me. I have Pebble Steel, about the same size as the 42, and have always felt it to be too big.
I was 80% sure about the 38mm, then spent some time at the Apple Store playing with the demo models, which are all 42mm. After several minutes, I turned to the display case and looked at the 38mm watches. The screen was noticeably smaller. Now I'm only 70% sure about the 38mm.
It's a dilemma, believe me I know. There is one other factor to consider: comfort! The 38mm will be less obtrusive, is a bit lighter and won't stick out as much as the 42mm. You probably won't bang it as much either. This is important, as you will probably be wearing the Watch a LOT during the day.
I have a Pebble Steel too.
But I think the Pebble Steel is very perfect in size for me.
Its weird, but the Pebble Body is 38mm (without band connectors) but the Pebble looks like the same size as the 42mm Apple Watch
