I'm torn between the two. Does anyone own both of these products and if so which do you prefer? I know that the ones a phone and all but is that the only advantage that the iPhone has over the iTouch.

GPRS coverage here is excellent definately much more GPRS coverage vs. open wifi networks.
Also, if the iPhone ever gets released here would I be able to get it reflashed to work on the standard networks?
arkitect said:If you are OK with GPRS then I'd say get an iPhone. It is a tad thicker than the iTouch, but wow what a device!
As to whether you will be able to re-flash and join the Apple approved provider well, that is an open question I know here in the UK O2 are refusing to let iPhones bought in the US join So the South African provider may want their pound of flesh.![]()
According to RJ van Spaandonk, chief executive of the Core group, Apple's head office in the US decided not to distribute the iPhone in South Africa.
"This is a decision from the US and outside the control of the Core group," he said. Those desperate for the iPhone can have one imported themselves, but Van Spaandonk doesn't recommend it.
Is it possible to reflash with UK firmware but it's just an option not to?

In which case I'd definitely import one. What would be the case with "parallel imports"? Could be a nice earner!![]()
Parallel imports?
The iPhone for me. I'm looking to cut down the number of devices I carry.
