In the same shoes as you

I was so delayed b/c the apple store app wouldn't let me enter my gift card info so I had to switch to the main site. Which was still not updated. Somewhere in the middle of all this my kid woke up, screaming. Total disaster. Haha.

Still confuses me why this problem hasn't made it to the front page yet.

Hoping it's because none of the sites have any insider information suggesting that the 38mm SG Sports won't start delivering tomorrow. Alternative is that interest in the tech community has been so heavily tilted toward the 42mm that nobody thinks a problem with the 38mm is worth reporting.

I don't have the stomach to slog through the posts, but do I remember correctly that the 5/13 window started for the 38mm SG almost immediately? By 12:02 or :03?

well, it's easy to define the 5/13 window for me. My brother and I ordered the 38mm SG Sport with black bands. Email confirmation times:

2:04:43 = 5/24 - 5/8 window <- my brother (still processing at the moment, received EOD)
2:04:51 = 5/13 - 5/27 window <-me

so, in our example, the 5/13 window occurred within those 8 seconds...

My confirmation email shows 12:05:00, exactly. My order shows delivery date of 4/24-5/8.

interesting... see above. I'm in the 5/13 window but have a time sooner than you

This is a much shorter thread than the one for the 42mm. Of course, that would still suggest there were more 42's sold than 38's...yet the 42's have started moving.

I'm still greatly disappointed, but we'll get ours next week.

Judging from the Google Doc and the ordertracker.me site that are floating around the forum, it looks like three 42s sold for every one 38 - and it's pretty consistent no matter what the data source (even the thread is about 3x as long) so I'm inclined to go with that ratio.

Really hoping for a charge soon with these new planes landing.

It could be yahoo - they process emails pretty slow. Even when sending emails to myself it takes a few minutes to show up in my inbox

How can there be no 38mm SG sports in the US? Just wondering if anyone was able to try on a 38 SG? The Apple Store in Modesto did not have one available for try on. Something about it seems odd! Until the UK people started getting "preparing to ship", I really didn't think there even was such a product..lol

I think everyone needs to realize something and be more upset.

The fact that two or three models only aren't shipping and that apple set a delivery window for the first time ever pretty much means they knew some models wouldn't make it. Think about it. If you forget about the models that didn't ship, then it's like every other launch - some get in for launch day and some don't. The only reason to have a window is to allow for the models they decided to bone people on to not be completely not bought. They wanted people to see that they could order the space gray 38mm and the pink banded sport, so it looked like a huge selection. They knew they wouldn't be able to ship all models so they pulled the window thing.

The ONLY question is did they know ahead of time which models would get boned. I say yes they did. In this day and age I don't believe that they can't pinpoint stock amounts and the most precise they can get is a two week period? You have to know that's not true just from looking at the iphone 6 launch with 6 models. There is absolutely no reason to give people a window instead of just making people part of a second shipment unless you want to try to stem the tide of people complaining their model got screwed and canceling that specific color.

If anyone thinks in this day and age apple didn't know almost exactly how many units would be available launch day then you are naive.

No SG BSB to try on at my store either.

I've lost faith. For two days now planes have been landing all carrying 42's. One batch of planes is not going to supply all 38's that are supposed to be out tomorrow.

Those are my thoughts as well. Each individual SKU has its own shipping timeframe in the system. If the 38mm SG Sports just weren't going to be going out in time for 4/24, then 4/24 shouldn't have been an option on that model to begin with. Apple may be technically be fulfilling its obligations if they all show up on 5/8, but they were still deliberately misleading. And if the supply issues are so severe that there are NONE to ship to the U.S., who's to say we won't get an email on 5/7 announcing that our orders have been delayed another 4-6 weeks because the batch they're currently waiting on just failed Quality Control? No. Just no.

From what I've heard around here, we could still wake up to a nice surprise in the morning, and it wouldn't be the first time. However, if no movement by the end of the day tomorrow, I'm strongly considering canceling my order. I can always order the same model in a few months when it actually exists, or order a different model at some point. Just not sure I can take another 1-2 weeks or more of all this. I have enough going on in my life right now, I don't need the suspense of a signature-requiring package that could catapult into existence at any moment or not at all.
