This reminds me of the guy who found the damsons to the first iPad and put them out online so people could print it ( on a normal ink printer ) and fold it to be the size and shape of an iPad so you could know what it feels like in your hands. The link was on this site but it was so long ago no way would I be able to find it .
Google "print paper ipad site:macrumors.com" and you should find this ;)

Everyone is talking about new bigger iPhones, but if I wanted a brick in my pocket I'd go with Samsung or similar. I want regular size iPhone 6, same width as iPhone 5 all other before. Will it be available?

Yes a regular sized phone that can fit in your pocket will be available... It's called the iPhone 6 and it will have a 4.7" screen.

Yeah... and am I the only one that thinks that it looks like a 7x7 Rubik Cube? :D

All iOS is, is icons smattered about the screen. They can't think past this for some reason. They've peaked on usability and workflow efficiency innovation.

That's too many icons on one screen...looks terrible.

Totally agree with you. 30 icons on one screen is waaaaay too many. I can't see the iPhone, no matter the screen size, having more icons per screen than an iPad

The thing is, a screen full of icons that provide you no context or information about anything is an old paradigm who's time has come and gone. Your computer doesn't just have your desktop cluttered with icons and folders.... Your pocket computer should not either. Dashboard for iOS would breath new life into iOS.

I'm personally waiting for the next iphone. Then I can whack Samsung fan bois for dissing the iPhone.

I feel almost exactly like you, but I would love a bigger screen in the current iPhone size. So if they reduced the bezels and made an edge to edge screen with keeping the same "body" that would be perfect. But I truly don't want a frying pan as a phone. I could compromise for something like the 4,7 inch HTC One.
Nevertheless we have to wait and see. If the iPhone 6 turn out to be too big for my preferences I'll end up swaping my 4S for 5S.

That doesn't make sense... you'll take the 4.7 HTC one but not the iPhone 6 4.7" which is smaller?

Ugly

I hope these are iPod touch mock ups, these look horrible. I would like a larger screen but I will keep my iPhone 5 and upgrade my android instead this year.

I don't get this image, they increased the size once so far, twice soon. How many times has competitors, say Samsung increased their phone size without a blink of an eye get away with it. People seem to target Apple for anything they do even if it is something others they love already do. I guess it is that human instinct to pull down the best to make yourselves feel better.

I made my own paper iPad in the winter of 2010. Times were different then. You couldn't walk in to Best Buy and handle 20 different tablets and 50 different smartphones like you can now.

I get it, the original intent of the iPhone was to have a solid, seamless metal design - wonderful, yeah it'd be beautiful. Why not continue with the 5/5s design and just have a svelte little cap at top and bottom? these racing stripes all over seem a little... well, weird. Oh well, Apple's gonna do their thing. Overall I do like it tho. I will however miss being able to stand it on it's end or side.

Double down on secrecy

It looks like Tim is really serious about double down.

Only a few months away and people are resorting to making mockup to generate attention instead of real parts leaks. :D

Curious to feel the actual size of this imaginary phone for some reason.

That's kind of the point. If you already happen to have a 3d printer, this is a fun and very easy thing to print, costing a few cents of plastic. There is no comparison between looking at a picture and picking up the object itself.

The black one in the photo is the 5.5" version. One thing this exercise has shown me is that the 5.5" version is way too big for me, although it would be good for those who use their phone to access the internet regularly and don't keep their phone in their trouser pocket. The 4.7 will do me fine, as I always use my phone as a wallet and don't wear a suit every day nowadays.

Stay cool, haters. It's an exercise in 3d CAD drawing, triggered because of the article showing a 3d file was out there commercially and it looked like it'd take only a few minutes to do. Just a bit of fun. My 10-year-old loves it... :)

I highly doubt Apple will be adding more icons to the homescreen on either of these models. I think they will just scale and spread them to keep the same number they currently have. With the iPad they stuck with the same number of icons as the iPhone, so I don't think they are just going to keep packing them in because the screen is larger. The mockup screen on that 5.5" looks ridiculous with so many icons.

Probably because Apple said there was no need for a bigger phone and 90% of folks on here have lambasted Samsung and the like for "big" screen phones when they first started making them. Even when iPhone 5 was going through the "mock up" stage that was going to be too big for most on the Apple bandwagon.

These mock ups of the iPhone 6 are about the least interesting of them all....a great big slab-like 5c with extra rows of icons on the same home screen we have had for 7 years?

Bicycles look much the same as they did about 130 years ago. The Mac desktop from 30 years ago is still recognisable. Perhaps the simple, app focused home screen has endured seven years because… it works?
