Oh! It's only the left edge! I got it! I can do it best with my left thumb. Shame my right thumb is what I use to navigate, generally.

I do recommend going into accessibility and changing the pressure needed to "light". That has helped me with other peek and pop actions.

Side note: God I wish the plus allowed for split screen :/

Hey, to everyone struggling with this here's a tip that worked for me:

I sat there and couldn't find a consistent movement either, until it finally worked, and it's essentially 100% for me now. Look at the lower left corner of your screen for a moment. Open a keyboard if you have to visualize what I'm about to say, but if you imagine you have a smudge that you want to wipe off between the very bottom of the "123", globe, and microphone key, swipe there. With just enough push as if wiping a smudge, exactly on that line.
I was struggling with using the swipe multitasking on my 6s+. This makes it so much easier, thank you!

What works what works for me is to start with a firm press on the left bezel, then swipe right. If the majority of your fingertip starts on the screen itself, it won't work

Here is another method I have played with. Press a little left of the edge and maintain the pressure while rolling your finger/thumb to the right until you see the home screen slide to the right. Then swipe to the right.

Change sensitivity to light and 3D press right on the edge of the screen. If you have a case, your thumb should be half on the case and half on the edge of the screen.

That's what worked for me anyway... It definitely takes some getting used to!

Has anyone tried doing this with a Plus in landscape mode? I can't do it; the left of the screen would either be near the earpiece or the home button depending on orientation. Ideas?

Sensitivity set to "light" seems to affect all areas except the "edge of the screen". Really frustrating.

It seems like changing the sensitivity only affects the pressure required for the first-stage "Peek" press, and has no effect on the the sensitivity of the harder "Pop" press. They have the little area in Accessibility where you can test your settings, and it's very clearly easier to register an initial press (screen blurs) when it's on the light setting, but takes exactly the same amount of pressure for the full press (image opens) regardless of your setting. In fact, if you set it to the "firm" setting, it gets quite hard to activate only the "peek", since it makes the amount of pressure for the two types of presses almost exactly the same.

Personally, I think the the "peek" pressure is good when it's set to "light", and I think the "pop" pressure should be decreased by about 50%. It would be much more comfortable to use this way. It would not surprise me if Apple tweaked the pressure settings a bit in subsequent updates.

This. Was having same issue and this made it so much easier.

Probably better for your phone too... I imagine pushing on your screen will add wear and tear eventually...

Half of your thumb needs to be outside of the screen. I mean the edge of the screen is in the middle of your thumb. Tricky if you use a case :(.

and PIP :( (I think thats the video one lol)

Loving the phone and all of its new features, however this one I can't see me using. The main reason is that it can take longer than double clicking the home button, rendering it a bit pointless really.

With 3d touch enabled I am having a hard time hitting links. You have to do a very quick tap for it to register. Maybe i'll try adjusting the touch settings.

I got to play around with one and one thing I really liked about the 3D Touch to app switcher was 1/3 swipe in and release from the edge gave you the app switcher and doing a swipe past 1/2 in from the edge takes you to the previous app you had open. (Open app 1, open app 2, 3D Touch the edge, swipe past halfway or more and brings you back to app 1.)

I think Apple will do some fine-tuning in the next upcoming releases of iOS. Or give us some options to give as more finetuning. Currently there are only three options for tuning, but even for the "light" setting you have to press really hard for a "pop".

I don't like 3D Touch.

Thanks! This and light sensitivity works for me consistently

To all those experiencing difficulty with force touch: you can adjust the sensitivity in settings. I changed mine to "Light" which works much, much better for me.
