iOS support was there right from the get go when the 6s was inroduced, handling new OS features, and is being expanded with the next iOS update.

Still, despite that, there were so many here with no imagination that quickly deemed it a FAIL/boring when introduced, as is typically the case here when Apple introduces something new.
I wasn't employed across the system consistently of fully though. All ios apps and all aspects of the system should have embraced the technology from the start. It's only in this next release does that appear to be happening.

Seems like they created the technology and put it out there with some initial support and worked on expanding it as they are doing it now. Something new doesn't have to come already all fully expanded and filled out as there wouldn't be much room to expand and it would take more time to get something new out in order to wait for it all to get figured out (assuming it all would even get figured out without it being out in the wild first).

Either put it out there with full support or don't put it out there until it's fully baked. Many users have found the implementation lacking and inconsistent.

Yeah, in an imaginary utopia things would work like that, along with world peace, and everything in between. Reality on the other hand is just reality, and we all live in it (whether or not we all actually realize it or agree with it).

I really like the uses of 3D Touch displayed in the video. However, not owning a 3D Touch capable phone, I'm not entirely sure what the difference between 3D Touch, and a long press (which would be avaialble on non 3D Touch phones) is. Is 3D Touch a significantly better experience than providing the same features using a long press?

Not significantly; but it is faster...

touch..and..hold..for..a..second and the options menu (whatever that may be) pops-up.
vs
just touch hard and you have the menu...

I use it all the time in safari. when I'm browsing a goolge search I like to open my results on on new tabs; I used to long-touch... now I 3d touch; much faster...

3D touch for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to quickly connect to available devices are what I've really been hoping for.
