I would have purchased the 6s for this alone. Oh well... See you in two years trackpad :p

But shouldn't it have been available to all devices running iOS9 using 2 fingers instead?
I believe it was enabled in the beta at some point, but I read somewhere they took it out because it was being accidentally activated too frequently. I don't recall where I read this, probably on the iOS 9 forum.

I can see that. When typing fast two fingers could touch the screen...

I still want it :(

3D touch is an amazing feature. I seriously don't expect it to take off right away, though. Most developers aren't that creative so it will probably be mostly pointless or unimaginative things for a bit but once it is used properly a few times to enhance things it should become pretty common and useful to the point that we won't be able to stand a phone without it.

It is a huge deal for games and productivity.

Thank goodness. I've been dying for this feature forever. Got tired of the dreaded magnifying glass when trying to edit with the cursor.

This right here! I don't think I realized until this thread how much I hate the selection tool as it currently exists.

My wife was trying to tell me this feature was only on the 6S+ and not the 6S. I'm glad she was wrong, because this is a fantastic feature.

Definitely one of the best uses of 3D Touch, and the commentator was not wrong by saying this changes everything. Especially for those who do a fair amount of typing on the iPhone, this will really save a lot of time and aggravation.

I don't get why some people are saying 3D Touch should work on older phones. Older phones don't have the new Taptic Engine (which John Gruber says is way better than the vibrator in current iPhones) nor the new display technology. Sure some jailbreak might be able to create a crude hack and call it 3D Touch but it's not the same and the majority of iOS install base doesn't jailbreak their devices. 3D Touch isn't long press and without the haptic feedback and new display technology it would be much less compelling and the UX would suck.
