My vision issues mean I can't see 3D, so why bother....

The real world is 3D enough, let my virtual world stay flat please. Thanks!

exactly, i have an issue too and 3D makes my brain try to use the eye causing a nasty migraine and i have the pleasure of forking out an extra £3 at the cinema for that bonus....

it's all bloody James Cameron's fault

What's with all the 3rd hostility? If done tastefully and not thrown in your face everywhere it does have some real uses. I think we can trust apple would leave it adjustable and not put it everywhere just for the sake of it being 3d. It barley costs any money to make a screen 3rd anymore.

You know, I like 3D. I think it can be done well in the movies (I think also a lot of movies though just throw it on top without actually catering to the format just for the extra bucks which leads to you having one shot that really takes advantage of the 3D and the rest of the movie leaving you wondering why you paid extra for *that*).

It's nifty. But for on a phone, I don't think it would be worth the extra battery and thickness you'd need. I mean it's a nifty gimick but that's all it is, it's a gimick. It doesn't add any extra dimension to the gameplay (all those 3D games you could play in 2D. They haven't incorporated 3D into the gameplay, it just enhances your view. And I'm not sure how you would make 3D part of the gameplay anyways). Really I don't even see any practical uses for it (I'd see more practical uses for the software that tracks your eyes cause then they can render the sides so you can see what something looks like from one side).

Last year when 3D was introduced for live TV I checked it out at Best Buy. The only feeling I got sitting in front of the TV rather than in a movie was during the sports broadcasts. I actually felt like I was standing on the sidelines watching motocross and that I was on the backline behind the penalty kicker in soccer. I thought that was pretty cool but by no means do I want 3D in a TV or phone. It's a gimmick, an eye trick, and it definitely gives me a headache. I refuse to watch another 3D movie again.

I guess I'm just saying I wouldn't mind having it built in for app developers to use when it can be useful. I'm not saying I want 3d mail. If it can be added without any other compromises then why not?

I agree with everyone. But it is a gimmick and I see apple doing it. Any more I think Apple is 2 steps behind everyone else. Im a big Apple fan. But if you have to JB your phone to catch up with the other phones( that produces way more phones than Apple) they have to do something. I think not having a real "new" phone is going to effect Apple.
