Fixed, so far!

create a new att profile from iphone, install, reboot. Mine is working.
:)

I have not really had this issue outside of my home area, so Im wondering if its a tower issue. Remember they did this whole "not the closest tower, but the best quality one" mumbo jumbo with iOS4.0. I think that could be affecting lots of people.

APple needs to get on it.

problems in woburn, ma also

Although I am not an iphone user i came across this forum while trying to figure out why I cannot connect to the internet on my phone for the past month or so. I am a at&t customer using an htc tilt 2 phone. I have full signal and can make calls with no problems but cannot get a internet connection when I had no problems before. It seems to correspond to the time the iphone 4 came out. I have coworkers who don't have the problem both att and non att users. I was just wondering if anyone had found a solution yet. I am agreeing with vashim66 that it must be a tower issue, as I only have this problem at work and not anywhere else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I called ATT a few days ago and they told me they definitely know about the 3g connection issues with this specific cell tower (rt 38 stop and shop next to 128)

They claimed it would be fixed the same I day called...how convenient....of course the issue still persists to this day.

I also have a nexus one that has the same exact issue, so it's definitely a tower.

I suppose the only way to get it fixed is to call ATT multiple times. I'm thinking about calling and asking for a refund on my cell phone bill

thanks for responding to me vashim66. I will definately give them a call. I work right in that plaza near tower.

my problem solved

Ok, so I figured out what my problem is. While it is related to a specific tower only I figured out how to eliminate the problem. I changed one of my settings on my phone. In advanced network connections I changed from Enable HSDPA/HSUPA to Enable HSDPA only. After doing this I no longer had issues getting a network connection near the problem tower. I changed it back to original setting just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and the tower was now fixed as AT&T said they were working on it and low and behold the issue was back. So now I keep it on HSDPA only and have no issues. I hope this can help some others out as this was rather frustrating to deal with.

Hi, thanks for posting this. Can you pls clarify where exactly this setting is? I cannot find it anywhere on my phone. I'm on vodafone uk though so we may not have that option...

Bump :)

Can anyone else please kindly confirm if you have that option to disable HSUPA and also state what network you are on? I would be forever grateful :D

Thank you!
