Hope I'm posting to the right thread (newbie here).I have a good logicboard (mother board) for an Iphone 3g. My question is how do I break down the serial number to find out if my Iphone was originally black or white? and a 16GB or 8GB? I would like to piece my iphone together back to its original state.

thanks.🙂

Punch it into Apple's warranty check website. It'll tell you.

I get information that my logicboard is out of warranty too, but I was wanting to get the info about original color of the phone (black or white), and what GB (8 or 16GB) the logicboard is. I'm looking for a link where I can punch in my serial number and it gives me the original color,GB info, and if I can get the week/year it was made that would be a plus. I would like to build my iphone to its original state.

Do you not remember what color the rest of it was? Also, where is the rest of it? Are you just buying iPhone parts and building one?

Also... Why would this matter?

Obviously me... I'm curious as to what's going on. Glad you're not.

He explained it in the OP. He has a good logic board and wants to use it to put together an iPhone. He wants to get the right housing though so
it's accurate to the origin of the logic board. At least that's how I filled in the gaps, haha.
