3G Network down in NY area?

Nothing in Northport right row. It'd be nice to have 3G with tethering by the time I get to work though...
 
Also in Northport and no 3G. It was working this morning around 8 but checked again at 9 and nothing.

As an aside- I just switched from verizon on friday for the 3G S and I know its only been 3 days since the switch but I have to say I haven't noticed a difference at all from Verizon to At&t. No dropped calls. No fuzzy calls.

(and yes I understand the irony that I'm saying I haven't noticed a difference between the 2 as I'm posting that my 3G is down. Verizon had its fair share of issues with 3G)
 
I am out in Hauppauge and disabled 3G on my 3GS and at least have Edge now. With 3G enabled it wouldn't go to Edge. Weird!
 
avg anywhere from 581 to 1288 kbits/sec in times square on 3G. amazing what this network is capable of 1% of the time.

I hope they are improving the network for us long islanders
 
im at work in Jericho right now...3G is working great. I wonder how it is back home in huntington.


here's to hoping for better service!
 
It hasn't been down in Brooklyn for me, discounting the usual crap connection at certain areas of my hospital (including the call room). :( But I was able to be online for the bus ride home.

What I'd like to know is how I can be sitting at a table yesterday, not changing position and have it go from 5 bars to nothing. It's ridiculous. :rolleyes: Happens all the time...
 
No 3g in Setauket Ny

Setauket NY all morning. Thought something
was wrong with my 3G s. Was gonna go to Apple
store after work. Glad to hear it's just Att network.
I'm using edge for now.
 
I'm in the heart of NYC, a block away from times square (hell's kitchen), and I have full 3G service. All the bars, and the 3G symbol are up (I turned off WiFi to test), and I just loaded the apple website very quickly.

Has been down all AM in Islandia (LIE exit 58), but looks to be back up.

edit: Slow as molasses though; I'm installing the Speedtest.net app to get some numbers.
 
It's back and WITH TETHERING

After freaking out this AM when the 3G went out, I just looked in the Network Preferences and tethering has been activated!
 
In downtown NYC (financial district). I get full bars and the 3G icon but everything is timing out. Calls and SMS seem fine.

False Alarm. Apparently I still had the Benm.AT hack on, but I thought it was removed when I did a panic-based Factory Restore this AM... Didn't think it would come back with the re-install, but it did...

Not Intentionally! I saw a previous post that suggested this might happen, and when I saw it in my preferences list, I was excited. Wasn't sure how it could have worked that way, but weird shtuff always happens in cell business
