I have a slightly raised bezel and I'm keeping it.

I had a day one iPhone 3G. About 2 months ago the wifi quit. It could scan and see AP's but couldn't connect no matter what so I got a replacement. The replacement had a yellow tinted screen. I thought it was pretty severe.

I went to replace the phone again and the new phone had a yellow tined screen.

I went to a different apple store. He said that their replacement parts are new and not refurbs like the phones so he put in a new screen. It had a yellow tint. It was incredibly annoying and I never did get over it.

No way in hell I'm exchange a phone over a slightly raised bezel for risk of another issue that is way worse that is "in spec" but ultra annoying.

Went into an O2 store to get it exchanged, he admitted I was the first. All of their replacements had the same problem so I guess it is a batch issue. Although their display model did not.

I then went to another store (again, display model was perfect), this O2 had a replacement which wasn't 100% smooth but was a huge improvement over my 1-2mm raised edge. The new one is again raised on the right hand-side, but only 0.5mm or so. I can live with that. They were happy to replace it as they said they had to do it a lot with the original 3G.

So, there are good ones out there! Call me fussy, but I'm the one that's paying.

you're joking right? do you actually measure the damn thing or what?! you have an issue dude if it's 1/2 of a mm. just be happy you have an iPhone (i own a 3GS and one side is slightly raised, but as long as there is no issue will the screen and the phone works the way it's supposed to work and is highly durable i can live with a slight raise and i thought i was bad about my electronics lol!).

Yes there are a couple of rough edges on my iPhone but I barely notice them. Maybe it's because I came to this handset from a Storm but I think it's pretty well put together. Just be grateful it's not a Blackberry!
