3G S speaker - anyone know if it'll be louder?

I have all three generations side by side and the 3GS is the same volume as as the 3G, and louder than the 2G for sure. But "much louder" is definitely pushing it into the realm of marketing. Audio seems better on calls.

The 3G S' speaker is much louder than the 3G's. I have actually had to turn the ringer volume down a couple of ticks.

Same for me... much louder than 3G. iPhone 3G S at 3/4 volume is same as 3G at maximum.

It's weird that there's so much variation in the hardware: volumes, screen tint, etc.
