So i went into the store again today. This time i got into it with the guy in the store. Im not that kind of a person either. But i talked with him and he had a 2g iphone that he owned.

He and i had my Touch his iphone 2g and a store 3g.

My findings:

*If you press on the screen on the 3g you can see the screen dip in and the lcd tweak its colors just like pressing on the screen of a laptop screen.
*Do that on the 2g or the Touch, it must be pressed alot harder for it to feel like it is dipping in and to have the LCD react to the pressure.
*The guy at the store says that that is beacuse the 3g is slimmer and the screen is closer to the glass because of this. (I dont buy that being the reason

*If u take and tap on the screen with a key on all 3, they 3g makes a totally different sound than the 2g or touch.*They guy says that again its a toally different build and that is why.

Look people, i know that stuff scratches and its a phone and there are screen prtectors and all that crap.

BUT!!!!
How i feel in regards to this is that they are making false statement about the new phone.

1. This is not the same screen as the touch or even the 2g.
2. The quality of the device IMHO has been greatly reduced.
3. To all the people that think that they have a glass screen, you are sadly mistaken. You have at best a plexy glass screen.

APPLE HAS YET AGAIN SOLD US A GREAT DEVICE THAT HAS BEEN RUINED MY A HORRIBLE GRADE CASE MADE OF SCRATCH PRONE (NOT RESISTANT) CASE AND SCREEN. JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER IPODS.

SCREEN PROTECTORS ARE MEARLY A COVER UP. sorry im very anti csure there are many that agree with me, waste of money and they are UGLY!
This is more than a thread about wheter or not YOURS is scratched or not people, this is about the fact that there is a major difference in the screen on the 3g and that it is a flaw, and by the look at the other threads, the whole case is cheap as well. (regarding the cracking on the corners and back)

They obviously saved some money on this build for sure.

Im just about un-convinced about my purchase.:(

Ok I would really like to see these iPhone's your talking about. I have both the 2G and the 3G and the only scratch on them is on the 2G. It's a small 1/4 inch verticle scratch at the top of the screen. While it is small it has always bugged me and is partley why I bought the 3G. I pressed on both screens fairly hard and both felt about the same. Niether seemed to dip in at all or have any kind of distortion. Now also as far as quality goes my 3G is way better then any 2G I have ever seen ( any quite a few of my friends have iPhones.) My 3G colors are much richer and deeper then my 2G. It is especially noticible on the home screens. I have alot of very colorful icons and on my 2G colors look a little washed out when compared to my 3G. Don't get me wrong the 2G is good but when you look at both side by side it's no competition.

 Okay, buddy, if you're convinced, be convinced.

My phone's screen, however, is glass, and I have several friends with iPhone 3Gs, and their screens are glass. I feel no difference between the screen of original and the 3G.
