Does it make sense to use 3g unrestrictor on a factory unlocked iphone 5? Does Apple keep their 20 MB 3G limitation even on factory unlocked iphones?

Well, Apple should let me decide if i want to use a lot of data. i am buying a phone from them. they shouldnt be benefitting the carriers. they should benefit me because i was the one who paid them for the phone. what if i have an unlimited plan?

Not everyone has an unlimited data plan. So there have to be some restrictions. I for one don't care as I have unlimited.

Well bottom line is they dont allow it but since you have options when JB like 3G unrestrictor then go for it.

then it must be optional.

Given the majority of users on limited plans, it makes no sense for apple. Although its a mere fact that it could just take a couple of code lines. However, like I said, it's also a petition from all carriers.
