Only losers queue up like that for a launch.

Its really pathetic.

I can't think of anything better that screams "I NEED A LIFE"

Its not like you can't get these delivered to the door any day for the next year.

I think the same thing about people who line up to buy music concert tickets. Have you ever done that? I'm one that pre-ordered but from what I read on these threads, waiting on these lines is an experience these people enjoy. Lighten up. Live and let live.

The scalpers are buying from resellers, not the Apple Store in Hong Kong.

The Apple Store in IFC is using iReserve, which is more like a daily lottery if you want to buy your iPad from an Apple retail store.

Most people just order online now, it saves the fuss.

Although i would never wait on a line for any product or anything that is not a high priority for me, i disagre with people who have the tendency to judge other people for what thy do with their time or their money. I don't see how that concerns you or anyone else!!

I work pretty close to the Apple store in Manchester UK and when i started work this morning there was a long line, but no where as long as when the iPhone 4S was launched. So i decided to give them a call after 10 to see if there was still people on the Q and they told me the Q has just ended so i toke 5 minutes off and went to get one. They still had the 64GB white wi-fi only version, just what i wanted.

Had only done the initial set up so no much of opinion right now, though i have to say that screen is gorgeous. It didn't feel bigger or much havier then iPad 2 to me. I do lots of photography and use big photo files from my SLR camera, am sure i will enjoy it.

Btw, am new here

Got mine at Sam's Club this morning at 8:00 AM!! 32BG Black Wifi.
If you're a business member you get early morning hours for shopping.
They were going to wait 'till 10AM but the manager said to just sell me one!
And it looks like Sam's sells them for $10 cheaper!

WOHOOOO!!!:):apple:

Waiting for that knock on the door. Going to be a long wait, I know it!

Toc Toc Toc... I should have taken a day off to go knock on doors in my neighbourhood... :)

I went to my local WalMart and they only had 2 16 gb models. I went to the nearest Apple Store (Holyoke MA) at 8:30 and got in a short line for a 32 gb WiFi model. Ironically, I wanted an Apple TV but those wouldn't go on sale until 10:00.

[Edit: Well that was easy! Fifteen minutes later I was walking out of the store with my iPad, Smart Cover and an Apple TV! Woohoo!]

32GB AT&T in-hand

Walked into Target, 6 minutes later walked out with 32GB AT&T iPad. There were only 2 4G models when I left and nobody waiting.

I personally just hate waiting in lines... I just don't understand the appeal. So I stay home/work and judge... (Hey, I'm only human... and it's not like no one never judges other for some things....) :D

OAK-PDX flight of the iPads!

My iPad is scheduled to leave on Fedex flight 1857 from Oakland to Portland at 2:40am. Flight is on time. :) due to arrive at 3:56am. Hopefully it's cleared TSA and it's not on the no fly list.

Mine flew in yesterday/Thursday afternoon on FedEx from OAK-PDX arriving at 4:06pm. Don't tell anyone, but I stood on my patio and watched the MD-10 land!

Guilty as charged. As I said I think it's goofy people stand in line to buy concert tickets. This is my first Apple launch event. I've been waiting since November for the new iPad and I was glad to be able to pre-order. Waiting in line is not for me. That would aggrivate me but from what I read here, some people actually enjoy the lines and the launch-day hype.

It's always the same ...

Every time I pre-order an iProduct I swear that this time it will be different: I'm going to play it cool, just go about my business and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up. But without fail I obsess, compulsively track status, sleep badly the night before arrival, and dream of driving across town to meet the FedEx truck so I don't have to wait another 45 minutes for delivery.

"Hi, my name is Quitesure and I'm an Appleholic"

Got to the local Apple store ( Albany, NY Crossgates ) at 6am and there was a short line that had doubled or tripled before 8am. I would guess they had plenty left based on the stack of cards they were handing out to those in line. I'm guessing they will sell out today, but it wasn't nearly as crowded as I was expecting.

Got mine from Tesco at 9 am, I was the only one there and it was first one sold in the store. Very pleased with it so far, the screen is absolutely stunning.

waiting on line for tickets to a show is a whole different thing altogether. You can eventually get an iPad. Not necessarily true for the show -- the band may break up, or stop touring, or never come to your city again -- the last part has a small likelihood, but you get the idea.

Wow

lol There is nothing wrong with being excited about a product; I thought that would happen to me as well but I slept rather well last night; I did wake up a littler earlier than expected but that's because I went to sleep at a reasonable hour. Hope that the truck gets here before I have to head to work!
