i can't see the problem..

glad i'm not a screen expert.. can enjoy my macs without getting pissed at stuff like this.

But why? Somebody like this is only looking for something to be unhappy about, so just wait. He will be back here within minutes of getting his MBP to post about a creaky hinge or something equally ridiculous. Just wait!

You really lack of empathy... What would you expect from a $3-4k laptop?? "Perfection at least" is the only answer. I am sure you would have been more compassionate if you had a similar issue... You should feel lucky owning the perfect rMBP (no ghost, no lag, no bleeding,...etc), but you have to understand that the folks who are having issues and seeking advices/help here are not just nitpicking...

Who knows, you might start to note those issues in a future when you would start using seriously your laptop, not just browsing the web and chiming on MR... :p

Apple quality is garbage, its the materials which are premium.

Sucks but its true, I'm a huge Apple fan but the quality is just not there.

Ive had problems with every single Apple item ranging from
-iPods (2) Classic , Nano
-iPhones (2) iP4S
-Macbooks (4) MBW, MBP, MBR, MBA

Actually now that I think of it, my iPad 3's been the only one without issue.

Sad to say that im just a blind sheep. But i've accepted it. :apple:

While it took a few returns for various reasons, we finally have five good units (notice I didn't say perfect... there's no such thing) at the office now. :)

I wonder what apple does with those returned units... Does it recycle them or flog them to an eye strained person?...

You can spend $50k on a car and not expect perfection. Computers are no different.

With $50k you can get a 2012 Ford Shelby GT500 or a Hyundai Genesis. Shouldn't the overclocked rMBP be compared to a more well designed and powerful car such as Porsche, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Maserati, or Ferrari?

Why are people slamming the OP for wanting what he paid for?

So many childish replies, 'mine is perfect', 'don't notice anything', 'you're being too picky'.
The fact is, if the OP notices anything then something is wrong, it's as simple as that.

When you pay $3000 for a laptop it should be perfect.

It's not the OP's fault, no matter how hard you try to reason it is, it's Apple's fault for having crap QC and have what are basically rural Chinese peasants put together most of their stuff.
Though in this case it's very likely a manufacturing fault and not the fault of someone in a factory anyway, first gen tech and all that.

This is why I just bought a non retina MBP, that and the fact I like to be able to replace HD's and RAM myself, but that's another rant.

Here we go with these threads, lets put solid colors on the screen so we can see all the inconsistencies but fail to realize that in real world use that situation would never come up. Stop looking for problems and use the damn thing.

People like you will always try and find something to be unhappy about. It's in your psychology....

As such, you're being completely ridiculous....
I respectfully call to your attention the fact you are posting in MacRumors. A forum created specifically for the discussion of Apple products.

If you feel compelled to act like a Psychologist, or some sort of Doctor and evaluate someone you don't know, you might be best served elsewhere.

I'm sure there are other more appropriate forums where you can get your needs met. This forum will only disappoint you. In addition, you are violating the rules of this forum.

We discuss Macs.

If you doubt this, please read the link I've so kindly provided below.

It's quite comprehensive.

Thank you :)

Many things that happen in the real world do not happen in the labs. Thanks to that issues are detected and escalated...

No, this is what happens when billions of a product are made. Just like dead pixels. 1-2, even 3 dead pixels is well within tolerance when you consider how many pixels are in the screen. Nothing is perfect, never will be...this is why there is ALWAYS a tolerance on something. If you want an absolutely perfect screen, be prepared to pay for it.

Virtual perfection is to be expected. Anything less is cost cutting. Nothing rocket science here.

Glad you understand any part of manufacturing, its not cost cutting. Samsung/LG would have to individually inspect EVERY screen they produce before sending them out. Nothing in rocket science is perfect either, hence failures.

There is a balance between what the consumer will pay and what they have to deal with and the tolerance reflects that. If you want a "perfect" display, you will pay the price for it and its certainly not falling under the $3k price of the laptop.

Assuming that you wanted to use the word "compassionate" or "empathetic" you might want to edit your post... ;)

Oups, sometimes I mix up with french/spanish adjectives Compréhensif/Comprehensivo which mean understanding in english. You are right, compassionate or empathetic are more appropriate

Thanks for the tip, I learned something today :). My wife keeps telling me that I am wasting my time in this forum, but I tell her I am improving at least my english :D

At least someone is getting something out of it.

No Problemo...

I just assumed that you had mistyped the word "comprehensive" instead of "compassionate."

If your public profile showed where you live you might get more assistance with your English when errors pop up. (BTW, it's "wasting" not "waisting." Or perhaps you just coined a new term for the process of increasing the size of one's waistline... :D)

English is not a very easy language to learn; sometimes there isn't much rhyme nor reason when it comes to spelling. I am a very good speller (not such a great typist...) but I regularly use a dictionary to check spelling and definitions. And I've been a native English speaker for 58 years! One of my favorite features of using a computer is the ease of using dictionary, thesaurus and similar websites, applications and the built-in dictionary on Macs. (Being able to easily revise and make corrections is also fantastic.)

You've got me to thinking that I should spend some time on French and Spanish forums so I can improve my language skills...

Just corrected the mistake :p

I think english is relatively easier to learn than french or spanish. I have to admit that phrasal verbs are not easy.

You've got me to thinking that I should spend some time on French and Spanish forums so I can improve my language skills...
Little silly joke:
Question: What would call someone who speaks two languages?
Answer: Bilingual
Question: What would call someone who speaks three languages?
Answer: Trilingual
Question: What would call someone who speaks four languages?
Answer: Quadrilingual
Question: What would call someone who speaks one language?
Answer: Heuh!?, American or British :p
