Does anyone else think the new bars look stupid.

Before they each dropped 2 pixels, now it's 2,2,1,1, starting at bar 5 -> 1.

I really don't like the look of them. Anyone else?

Old on bottom

The original ones are better but I can't say it really bothers me that much its just a few bars.
 
OCD people will not like the final bar. It doesn't perfectly match up with the curve. The drop from 2 to 1 should have been half of the drop from 3 to 2. But I don't give a ****.
 
Meh, it's an illusion to make you 'think' you're getting better service when you're on 1 or 2 bars.

All they did is up how high the lowest signal strength bars go. To make it look like you're doing something, when you're not.

Pointless and sneaky. Disapprove.

Oh ya, it's pretty stupid. I thought you were talking about the boxes on the picture. Those are from zooming in on my 3Gs. I don't have a "retina display". :rolleyes:

You actually do get better service on the iPhone 4 on 1 or 2 bars, as AnandTech has shown. It is more deceptive on the earlier generations, though.

GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just the bars that display the received signal strength! I mean, look at you, look at the way you act on this place! You've turned a meaningless alteration to a graphic, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!
 
While I don't really care what the bars look like, I do like the fact that I can now actually SEE the first bar. I found it too hard to tell if I had 1 bar or no bars with the old ones. With the new ones I can actually see it's on 1 bar.

No offense, but spouting off like this helps nothing.

Regarding the topic- yeah, they look odd to me. I liked it better before. But no big deal really.
 
optical illusion to make us think they fixed something, obviously the graphic of the bar doesn't play any difference so why change it and not just fix the formula ;)

This. Though before the update I had five bars, now I have three. Who cares though? I haven't had a dropped call as of yet, so long as I don't drop any calls I could care less how many bars there are or what they look like.
