I may be wrong but I don't think the apple store has gone down in the past when apple has released new iOS versions.

Probably unrelated, I expect the release to happen next Tuesday.

You may be right, maybe they're updating the iPad page with pictures of multitasking or something?

It was just a prediction as i think it could be released any day now.

Not likely. The U.S. store is wide open still. Besides it's a software update and not a new product launch. They usually only close the store when a new product launch is imminent.

Silly rabbit.

If Steve Jobs says November, he means November 30th 11:59 P.M. Pacific time.

Don't forget he said March for the iPad and it suddenly became April. ;)

Not to mention the "white" iphone LOL

But i agree with previews post, Tuesday seen more likely, However there is a small chance we see it, Friday/Saturday due to the Day light saving bug being imminent in the US this weekend. (I'll say it again...very small chance)

If he really found himself between a rock and a hard place, he could go by Hawaii time (not sure of the correct time zone title).

It's already in GM. Unless there is a significant bug uncovered, we should see it today or tomorrow.

A bug like the WiFi issue that is affecting a lot of users! ;)
Just kidding, I think Apple can fix it in a sec.

Anyway, Apple is in love with Tuesday for product or software release. So maybe next Tuesday.

too many people with their wifi on at the server farms :p

Plus I do believe there's wifi issues to fix in the GM release judging by all the problems people are having with it (I had to downgrade). It seems Apple fixed and fixed the betas until they finally managed to break them in the GM release.

Infamous dropping WiFi has been around since the iPad was launched. There's a massive thread on official apple forums. iOS 4.2 will hit sometime next week and "if" they do launch a fix for wifi it will be weeks/months later.

On the Apple support article for the alarm clock issue it says that repeating alarms can be set normally from Nov 7th. Is this a clue to 4.2 release? Or just the nature of the bug?

This is a myth. The have introduced updates on Friday's before including major OS introductions.

actually since 2.0 they've only done 3 releases on a friday, one was a major interation, that was 2.0. a medium release of 2.2 the only other release on a friday was 3.0.1.

The most common days are wednesday and monday with the same amount. 4.1 was a wednesday, 4.0 a monday, 3.1 a wednesday, 3.0 a wednesday, 2.1 a tuesday.

personally i am going with Monday, as that will be a week after GM, i don't think that they've ever had a period less than a week between GM and final release, they need at least that for Devs to test their apps and submit the updates ready for the apps to be released once final release is done.....

so although you are not wrong, it's unlikely to be tomorrow
