4.2.1 jailbreak is fine for me but I'm interested in the safari speed increase

All of these threads should just be closed immediately. Once a jailbreak has been released, there should be an official thread for it.

I agree.
No point of the drama and complain threads cause all they do is start bickering....

A snappier Safari is all i'm looking forward to.

Not a big deal to me, its not a must have thing that will make me lose my JB over.
Im happy still on 4.1;)

Have mine jb'd at 4.2.1 and Im just grateful they spend anytime doing this for our phones. Heck on some forums you run into people that wont even share their custom icons. So I will happily wait for my free gift.

Lately it's been geohot and chronic dev team that have been releasing jailbreak software. First was Comex, then Geo, then chronic. Dev team has just been adding the tools into pwnage tool, which I think is the best and most stable.

I'm starting to think that if the Dev Team created a "Whaaaaaaambulance" app, they'd cover their needs for donations rather quickly...

Who told you guys i am complaining avout 4.3 jb? People are requesting right now because thw big ego guys from iphone dev team said they have a 4.3 jb as soon as its official release. I o
Well, you should know by now to ignore anything the Dev team says about what releases they have and when they might be out.

I was too but finally couldn't stand the BlueTooth issues inherent in 4.1 and once I saw Sn0wbreeze 2.2.1 was out (Redsn0w and Greenp0ison didn't work in my environment) I took the plunge to 4.2.1.... The bluetooth stack fix alone was worth it.... 4.3 is a novelty at this point with no door busting zing-bang features worth having or taking the risk of bricking for (at least for me) - though I'll watch with interest just to stay informed

Actually, I would like the new wifi hotspot feature. I bought tetherMe because they said that when 4.3 was available, that we would be able to use that feature for native tethering without have to pay the ridiculous $20 fee.

There's a certain irony in a bunch of mamby-pambies crying over FREE SOFTWARE for devices which cost LOTS OF MONEY. Never ceases to amaze me. Go buy something else if you don't like it, rich boy.

I'm wondering if the jailbreak will also open up the built in wifi tethering of 4.3. Some kind on code that can be inserted.

I'm looking forward to upgrading from 4.1 to 4.3.

^^any benefits to tetherme as opposed to mywi?

i feel that mywi is regularly updated and has just about any feature that could exist in a tethering app

TetherMe enables stock tethering (USB, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi) for $2.99. MyWi does tethering with those methods as well, for $20.

Stock wi-fi tethering also has AP infrastructure mode and WPA encryption vs. MyWi's ad-hoc, WEP encryption.

Has anybody tried this yet? I'm travelling at the moment so don't have access to my computer... Should have some time this weekend though to try it out!

The 4.3GM jailbreak is a tethered jailbreak. Most people are waiting to see if we get an untethered jailbreak. With a tethered jailbreak, every time you reboot your device, you must be connected to a computer. Untethered allows you to reboot at will and retain your jailbreak.

But isn't it entertaining to listen to the bickering, complaining and demanding?

People just want to feel that they aren't behind. They want to be as quick to update as they can. Any new features Apple adds, they want now on top of the JB.

I have actually met people who still run iOS 3 and they go crazy when they see the folders. I'm there with my jaw on the floor  wondering if they EVER sync their phone.

These are the two different types of owners.
