For those saying that those of us with the 42mm SG sport are being crazy and ignorant, thats not true.

The fact that some of use ordered within the first 5-10 minutes and got a 4-6 week estimate alone is absurd.

But the fact that people who even had a launch day delivery are being delayed is even more absurd.

I order within the first min. And my ss sb started at 4-6 weeks

I was holding out hope for today for an early shipment. I got my confirmation email at 01:04:55 (Mountain Time) Space Gray 42mm… and nothing has changed.

Oh well, I at least hope it shows up earlier than the 13th.

I think I'll be a little annoyed if I don't get mines by next Friday. I didn't expect to get it on launch day. Here's to hoping next Friday we'll have it. Tomorrow seems to be out of the question for me.

Just got an email from Apple.
Mine has been shipped out.
Delivers on Apr 27.

42mm, space grey sports band.

Placed order on Apr 10, 3:03am (ET)

Originally May 13 - 27.

Very happy now.

42mm space grey and black sport. Ordered 12:03, confirmation email 12:04 original ship May 15-28, just changed to shipped with email notification with expected delivery date of April 28 in Canada woohoo

Confirmation time?

Email confirmation 4/10 @2:02am central; Temp authorization 4/22 @6:26pm central. Other than that no updates from Apple or UPS. So maybe Im in the next round next week. Im sure I would have heard something by now if I was getting it on launch day.

42mm Sport silver with white band.

Was 4-6 weeks. Credit card was charged yesterday and status changed to preparing for shipment yesterday as well. I was able to find my UPS next day air tracking number by searching with my phone number. The label was created today.

The issue is that UPS shows order processed but not actually shipped yet. I realize its overnight shipping but I'm getting concerned that's it's late in the day. It's almost 4 PM Pacific time where I am. Where are these shipping from and do I have cause for concern?

LOL!!!!! I had to post what I wrote above because, while I was writing it I got my shipment notification. EXCITED.

mine just shipped : )

I had to update the name on my billing address and figured I would just ask Apple about my place in queue while I was at it.

They informed me that I should get my Watch by the end of this week, or if not, then early next week!!! And I ordered the 42mm SG (Sport) with May 13-27 ETA.

Order page still shows Processing though.

To everyone who has been updating statuses in here, kudos. As someone who has the same shipping window, it has been intriguing to hear about everyone else’s status who is in the same boat. It is also fun to jokingly agonize together and hope against hope that we’ll see our watches sooner then they were promised to us.

To all those who think they have legitimate complaints, a few things…

1) As others have said, Apple gave you a delivery estimate when you purchased the watch and it was your choice to purchase it. If they beat that estimate, they should be commended; if they meet the estimate, you should be perfectly satisfied; and if they miss it, you will have something to complain about. But given almost no one can yet claim Apple didn’t meet the expectations they presented at the time of purchase I have exactly no sympathy for you and you have no legitimate grievance that it won’t be shipping to you four weeks early.

2) You have absolutely no idea how many watches were made, how many bands were made, how many were ordered, how many have shipped, and in what combinations. If you think the anecdotal and anonymous reports, from lets say (charitably) 100 people on this thread, gives you enough information to reasonably speculate on the status of the predicted over 2 million pre-orders, then I’d highly recommend you sign up for a very basic statistics course ASAP. The people on this board are not a representative sample, and even if they were, they are of a sufficient size to draw any conclusions. So all this “I can’t believe Apple didn’t X, Y, or Z” is bogus. You don’t know, so don’t act like you do.

3) Just because your particular model wasn’t in the April 24th shipping window when pre-orders went live doesn’t mean that mistakes were made or that the launch day should have been pushed back. A lot of people will be getting Apple Watches over the next few days… and that is great for them. The fact that you weren’t able to get yours when you wanted it doesn’t mean that everyone who will be getting one should have had to have waited another 2 weeks, month, or however long you would have wanted Apple to push back the launch for.

4) Given this is a whole new product category, Apple had to make some very very tough guesses about how many of any particular model to make. There is almost no precedent or frame of reference that they can look to build their assumptions. Even if somehow they had managed to guess perfectly which of the dozens of combinations were going to be pre-ordered and in what quantities they still have to deal with the fact that sometimes there can be unexpected issues in the production of a product, in the supply chain that provides the materials for that product, in the quality assurance of that product, etc, etc. There are tons of variables that could have led to some combination of models not being produced in the quantities they desired. There is also the fact that some of combinations are simply more difficult to make then others (the link bracelets are brushed BY HAND). In other words, it is not shocking that some models are more difficult to get then others.

5) None of this is new and not limited to Apple. Every year certain models of iPhone are constrained for months after they launch due to some combination of the factors above (and they come in far fewer combinations). The same has been true of virtually any successful product Apple has ever made.

Anyways… I feel a lot better now getting that off my chest. Thanks to those of you who are remaining rational. I can’t wait to get my SS Link.

MacRumors needs to put this on the front page!!! Very nicely written!
