It sometimes scares me that in 20 years of post-graduate and professional life, I have never owned a PC. It's like finding the love of your life when you're young (which I did as well), and still be going later in life. No time wasted.

Maybe your recent conversion will all the more be sweet for having lived through the darker side, though.

I switched 1,5 years ago, and I love my macbook, but I haven't had that extreme "love mac - hate PC" feeling.
There are plenty of things for which I think Windows or Linux are better. If I had to chose between the 3 main OS'es I would pick Mac OS X, but luckily I don't have to, so I still use all three.

Viva Apple

I started life out on an Apple 2e years and years ago and that computer was solid as a rock reliability wise and had heaps of functionality too. Eventually I migrated onto the Windoze Train for a variety of reasons and for an astonishing twenty years remained faithful to that OS. About five months ago I upgraded to an iMac because bootcamp gave me peace of mind regarding applications, Mac was always in my mind as it is noted for its stability and level of integration between hardware and software, you also get a computer that is easy to use and comes with most of what you needs.

Months down the track I would liken giving up on Windoze to stopping smoking... when think about it you wonder why you ever did it. The best thing of all is the hassle free nature and sheer enjoyment of using the machine. Its great not to get convoluted error messages like dll 449474633 error. If Apple stays on the ball and my experience stays like this (for the most part) there will NEVER be a place for Microsoft anything in my life.
