A 4.7" screen is not a major jump from a 4" phone.

We all know Apple released a smaller phone as its cheap as chips.

If you want all those new internals buy a 6s. If you want a budget phone buy a 6. If you want a 4" screen purchase an iPod touch as a second gadget. That's what I do but the 4" screen looks awful next to my 6s.

We have a 6s and a 5s and I prefer the 5s. I wish it were smaller still.

Yep the 4" screen on the 5 was even a bit on the big size, but it was still usable one handed so it was and is ok. the 4 and 4S were the best iPhone design, and I would have preferred the SE to take that design. I think the ideal iPhone lineup would be 3.5" 4.5" and 5.5" Unfortunately we won't ever see that.

I know its shocking, but many people using their phone for communication, you know phone calls, texting, messaging, etc... how exactly i would make all this with iPod Touch?

My guess you're one of these people that using their giant brick phone as media consumption device. In that case, you should get yourself iPad Pro as a second gadget and enjoy the freedom of a normal sized phone.

Never required? Did you see the keynote? They showed 4" sells and it's a very important number. You may be sure that Apple has good reasons to launch the 5se.

Finally Apple has caved into the reality that people prefer choices. It took years before they'd even admit that fact. How well a model sells no longer matters because Apple's so wealthy they can subsidize anything.
